Spring Practices 2019 Thread

Baring unforeseen injury to a key player 2019 should be a very exciting season and I think another trip to Frisco. We have been pretty deep @ running back so we don't know what kind of talent have been red shirting.

Hey Lucky, can't find anything on those two either. How does a 6'2 300lber All-KingCo D-lineman all of a sudden appear unnoticed as well as a 6'4-5 WR out?

Technical observation about Nascimento: Good tackler, but a couple times I noticed he didn't land, 300#!!! on his prey after the tackle. Mason looks to be a great receiver, and a very talented blocker. Welcome to the Nest guys (CV's QB a potential Eagle?) Best wishes for some outstanding spring ball. Wish I could make the game.

The Spring roster has been posted here.. https://goeags.com/roster.aspx?path=football&roster=204&

Didn't see any significant changes but may have missed something. Practice starts today!

One DL I don't recall from past signing day was John Nascimento. 300lbs out of Juanita HS.

Don't remember Micah Mason out of Central Valley (Veradale) either. 6'5" WR

Not sure what happened, but I read your post and went to see Micah Mason's profile on the roster, but he seems to have vanished!

How someone 6-5 can appear then disappear with so few witnesses is puzzling. I'm going to assume this is an old sasquatch tale.

I like this Nascimento kid. First result on Google shows him a wrestling state champion. At the 3A level, that isn't easy and shows he is a versatile athlete.

Am seeing the word "UNCOMMON" all over the Twitter feed for EWU Football. Guessing this is the new focus...

At RB, Isaiah got 7 carries last season for 50+ yds. Not sure what Eag's have in the pair of RS''s but they also have Trevor Davis as a possible "big back" to replace Pierce on short yardage if he can't make it all the way back from the injury. 6'1" 215ish plus his initials are TD :-)..

Have you seen any of the early Spring? Full pads today according to the schedule. Would love to know who is standing out.

I am assuming walk-ons are attending school. Might there be more in the fall ?

You are more connected to this than most of us. There were no one off walk on's at RB listed on the roster. Assume the new OC will be pretty balanced based on the CWU offense under him. 5 capable RB's may be enough.

Eagle football squads have a continuing win x 11 + playoffs and now an '18 - '19 championship spirit. Our team believes in themselves, their training, and the wisdom and pluck of its coaches, together with just a smidgen of amazing luck. For myself, Eastern Football is a 12 month operation, and I know all concerned are committed to either preparing or playing all year. Like Coach Baldwin, Offense Coach Shoemaker comes to Eastern from his very successful program at Central Washington and teams of similar EKGs. Spring ball should ultimately propel The Eagles into another trip to Frisco. I'll be anxiously watching for reports, gifs and video updates on this and other sites. Go Eags!

Went to practice this morning. Observations:
#3 EB III is doing just fine.
#2 Jayson Williams is looking like the go to receiver.
#44 Dennis Merritt looks even faster than last year and he is running hard. like his efforts, and he ran away from a couple of defensive backs.
reserve QB's need lots of work?
#65 Tristan Taylor at left tackle is my man, correct that he is big enough to be several men. He just turns the left side of the line into a black hole for the Defense. The left side defense is going to be so excited to play a real team, so they don't have to see #65.
#18 Ty Graham played a lot today? It's spring? not sure he gets to play in the fall. He sure looked good, he really atttacks the line of scrlmage.
#21 Dean Sise, Transfer, he played some in championship game, turned eligible Jan I,2019. He also looked good at the rover position or outside linebacker. I am confused by that position
Did not see Custer any where?
Defensive backs did a good job today, I could not pick up #s.
Field goal kicking looked good, not sure who?
Weather was nasty second half of play
