We’re still trying to figure out our roles and get comfortable in our system,” Rahe said. “When you’re playing really good teams, sometimes it doesn’t go very well when you’re trying to do all that stuff. Give Stanford credit, they’re a really good team.”

:dead: Just as predictable as the result of this game are the excuses from Rahe. Same excuses, different year. Someone please remind Randy that he lost exactly 1 player from last season, has 3 seniors, 3 Juniors, and 4 returning starters.

I could've known his excuse would be along these lines. This has been his crutch of an excuse for 11 years.... He always says that he wants his team to peak by "league" play, and that is not a valid excuse to losing! He always says it takes till January for kids to "figure out the system." WTF??! :yikes: :yikes: Numb that thing down then! I am convinced he would use the same excuse, in the event that 100% of the roster came back the same from the year previous. I have given up on listening to his pre/post game comments, its all brainwashing and the same hook every time. He needs to be held accountable to someone. He needs to be fined for every OOC game lost, and the scheduling needs to be out of his control.

Longtimecat.... how long have you really been a Weber State fan? Where have you been the past 11 years of losing games we have no business in losing? Do you follow WSU athletics at all? Have you not seen that Rahe has a 6-37 OOC record during his time here? Do you not agree that the excuses Rahe makes year after year, are ridiculous? He returns 90% of his roster and he is claiming they dont know their "roles" on the team? He has basically 3 or 4 4 year starters..... The only roles they dont know are pick and rolls...

Where you even around for this game 'longtimecat?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-LTj2l17pg

This video sums up Rahe's entire career in 5 minutes....

WSUfan is a fantastic fan of WSU who is tired of the limitations promoted by Rahe's unwillingness to schedule better and grow the program out of the puddle it operates in. He is tired of an athletic administration that promotes average as great and is satisfied to be the big fish in the puddle. Why is it that when WSUfan, and other fans, desire better they get ridiculed as a "bitcher" by LTCat and not a tried and true fan. I submit that the likes of this group are the greatest fans of WSU.

Rahe is a good recruiter, not a great one. It isn't too difficult, I would think, to get good recruiting results versus the standard of the rest of the Big Sky when you have the relatively great resources that Weber has versus the other schools of the BSC. There is no proof that he would be a great recruiter if he were coaching at a higher level school. Rahe is also a good coach, not a great one! If he were better he would be at a PAC-12 school like Tinkle. With the resources and history of WSU an average coach can look better than he really is when playing in the puddle. Rahe's record against Div 1 non-conference opponents speaks volumes as to his coaching limitations. Can a great coach really not ever figure out how to attach a full-court press successfully in 11 years as a head coach? Weber has long been a big fish in a puddle. It is exactly where the athletic administration has settled in to. Rahe fits WSU perfectly, they both are comfortable with the status quo. There is a reason that he has been here so long...

I submit that the majority of folks posting on this blog have the same attitude and mentality as does WSU, the athletic administration and the head basketball coach. They won't tolerate those of us who may criticize because we want more. Is such criticism really just "bitching"?

Thats all I am saying, maybe stated better by baller. I have never said anything about Rahe that isnt true. I think it is natural for us as fans to want and desire more. Long are the days when beating USU, BYU, UofU was a solid 50/50 chance. Now its more like 90/10 chance in their favor. We now have a pasty home schedule (which leads to poor attendance numbers), cant win OOC road games, and now we have to deal with Reno. The conference has a whole is in the bottom 10% of all D1 basketball. As I have stated many times on here, the local schools have all invested more into their brand and athletics than us. In the 11 years since Rahe has been here, USU moved to the MWC, UofU to Pac-12, SUU to BSC, UVU to WAC, BYU to WCC (sorta lateral, theyre in a miss down there. Heck even Dixie moved up to D2. Weber has been content with the Big Sky, and we will stay idol in this conference for the foreseeable future...

I'm sorry that I haven't come on this board for years and years ranting hatred about Weber and it's coaches, I have been around though to enjoy the good times and bad. I also know that we are three games into the season and vitriol flinging idiots are basically calling for the coach's head.Oh and by the way I've been around long enough to see games yes we should have probably won and games we probably shouldn't have. But the thing your obviously ignoring is it happens to all teams, all coach's.Your also ignoring the fact that not only did Weber win the Gulf Coast classic last year they also won the big sky and tournament. That made me very happy. So excuse me Mr hater for standing up for the school I've been supporting for over 40 years.

Yeah... Whoopty doo..... Lets get a slow clap for beating up on 300+ rpi teams in "league" and winning in Reno...     winning the BSC is no longer the standard. Have you idiots actually seen how the conference is doing so far? 3-24against D1 schools? Winning the title is overrated.... Making noise in the dance should be the new standard.

The Big Sky Conference has definitely become a dumpster fire. Bovee's goal should be to get WSU out of this bloated terrible conference. Get the best basketball schools and football schools from the BSC, poach where needed and rebuild the WAC or start a new conference. The 2016 version of the BSC is not what it was in the 90's and earlier, it has regressed to an embarrassing level.

So what team do you coach really. No really your forum name is wsufan. I've never read anything from you proving that.

Weber is the king of big sky basketball....if you think any BSC team is going to load up on 4 star recruits and compete with the big boys you need meds

And who are these "big boys" you're talking about? And who are these "4-star" recruits? Seriously, who's the last big boy we beat? Bet you can't think of a single win off the top of your head. Without using google or ESPN, who was our last big win? You can't do it, becuase we don't have a good win. So is losing by 19 to Stanford considered "competing?"

I am in full agreement about the meds.

WOW! Why the name calling and accusations about bitching?

1. No one has called for Rahe's head... just want to see a higher level of accountability and stop the excuses.
2. Just because a blogger is pissed at the performance of his team doesn't mean he isn't a real fan.
3. No one is bitching, just stating that Weber is capable of so much more if Coach and Admin raises their sites.
4. Winning the BSC title 2/3 years and winning the Gulf Coast Showcase is not the higher standard for
measuring Weber. Beating up on BSC RPI 250+ teams is not a good standard of measurement. The three
teams (Drake, Pepperdine & Central Michigan) Weber beat in the GCS were a combined 43-55 last year.
Pepperdine lost to Eastern Washington in the first round of the CBI and CMU lost to Tennessee-Martin in the
first round of the CIT. If these wins are appropriate measures of success, then we have failed.

Those accused of "bitching" just want the Athletic Administration and the Coach to raise their sites to meet a higher standard. What standard?
1. Win more games against in-state "biggies" than we lose.
2. Organize a stronger pre-conference schedule at home.
3. As long as Weber is in the BSC then win regular season and tournament title.
4. Win a game or two in the NCAA's occasionally.
5. Seek to be ranked in the top 25 and a consistent under 100 RPI.
6. Find (or build) a better conference to play in so that the above goals can be realized.

Stopping the happiness at being the big fish in the puddle would be a good place to start to get better!

Now who don't want that baller, I'm pretty sure everyone who is a supposed supporter of Weber wants better it's just there are two types of fans here. 1 bitchers and non bitchers.

That's simply not true. In addition to other types of posters, there does tend to be a couple of groups that several align with:
1) Those who see things through purple tinted glasses and have difficulty accepting negative opinions, or even any opinions that differ with their own.
2) Those who have real frustrations regarding any number of tired topics, but their "bitching" is because they want to see more from their teams, coaches, athletics, or school. It's very possible to be devoted fans of these things you desperately want to see improve from the status quo.

There is a number 3 The group of people who realize the chances of Weber competing around the country for 4 and 5 star recruits. The chances of Weber competing for instate recruits with much bigger schools and also Weber moving up to a different conference. That one there is a doozie. I would love for Weber to win some more in the big dance and I believe it will happen. But the dinamics of the all mighty dollar does not allow for smaller schools to compete. On the other hand I believe Rahe and his staff have done a great job getting good players and making them better. Yes I am happy with where Webers program is now. I do wish for better but I won't constantly harp about it.

I guess some people go to Golden Corral & say damn that was good when they're finished. Hard for me to understand how you could be "happy" never beating the In States, never upsetting anybody on the road, never having a decent home schedule, never winning in the NCAA's.... Rahe is a near exact disciple of Stew Morrill who won 1 NCAA tourney game in 29 years...

Okay you guys win, Rahe is a terrible coach, Weber is a terrible program. You rest your cases.
