I guess some people go to Golden Corral & say damn that was good when they're finished. Hard for me to understand how you could be "happy" never beating the In States, never upsetting anybody on the road, never having a decent home schedule, never winning in the NCAA's.... Rahe is a near exact disciple of Stew Morrill who won 1 NCAA tourney game in 29 years...
Okay you guys win, Rahe is a terrible coach, Weber is a terrible program. You rest your cases.
But at least you're not Idaho State -:). It's funny, I troll you guys, Montana, Idaho and the BSU boards. Nobody's happy: BSU wants out of that lousy Mountain West, which is holding back its national championship aspirations. Montana wants out of the BSC, which is holding back its aspirations to be the next BSU. Weber wants out of the BSC so it can be the next Gonzaga. And the Idaho fans are crazy cause they are going bowling -- and then back to the Big Sky. Oh the humanity. But it could always be worse -- you could be us.

Well...this has escalated quickly. I think we can all agree on one thing. Even though we don't agree all the time, in fact some of us never agree, we all love Weber State. I'm very proud to be a Wildcat. It isn't just my school, but much more. It is my community. What makes me mad is the lethargy of some. The department and school in general, are devoid of actual leaders. We have become the, "lets watch and see what everyone else does" instead of being innovative, creative, proactive and most importantly determined to develop. Athletics is way too comfortable with how they are, and aren't really wanting to change. That is a really bad thing for Weber State... I've said it before and I'll say it again. Weber is being slapped by potential and we just continue to stand still.

The Big Sky is fine and it is where we are going to stay. Nothing is going to change that unless the Sky splits. The hope is, if that happens, that we aren't left with the UNCO's of the world and move with the top schools. For that to happen, our budget has to increase. We need to have a much bigger and committed fan base, and most importantly, we need to generate a hell of a lot more revenue. No more giving away the house and barely making $1000 on ticket sales for home games. Even if we are destined for the Sky and nothing changes with the current membership, which I'm pretty sure will stay this way for at least 5-10 years, who says we can't progress as a department, as an institution? It is sad that our leadership is fine with who we are. It is pathetic that they aren't driving for more. That they are fine with the status quo. In my office, that isn't acceptable. We are always trying to do more. To expand what we have and to build it into something better. I'm shocked that they, athletics is okay with where they are as a department. Lets be honest, the issue isn't with Rahe it is with the leadership. We should demand more from our department as a whole. I know Jerry has it in him to do more and I expect him to be that leader that we know he can be.

I am completely in agreement with that as I have said I wish things could get better,I am just a realist. There is nothing that I can do to change it . But for now I am going to be happy with winning the big sky that to me is more than beating BYU and Utah. And if it takes a few games to get a team scheme going I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt so sue me for not whining about it. DONE

I just read that Ethan Telfair is out for the next 3 games and is not with the team. What is the skinny on that Bengal Visitor?

Not sure. He got a T In the Utah State game and sat the rest of the night. Then it was announced he wasn't making the road trip. I know Bill Evans has had a rough early season -- he's had to suspend two guys besides Telfair, lost Kyle Ingram to a back injury, had a player tossed from a game from coming off the bench during a skirmish, and the UVU transfer Garrity has missed games with knee problems.

ISU lost today in OT to Eastern Kentucky after committing 30 TOS. I really think this is Bill's most talented team at ISU but he's got to get everybody healthy and on the same page.

I think we are seeing why so many teams across the country passed on Telfair. He is, obviously, talented, but the rest of the baggage may not be worth it. It's too bad, because he is a talented guy. However, his behavior does not seem to be helping his team much. I hope he gets himself strait in time to help ISU in BSC play.

Funny thing is ET was nothing but a gentleman last year. He was genuinely greatful to get an opportunity. Don't know what's going on now, but I'm hopeful he'll get it together before conference begins.
