Announced attendance for last night's game was 2,093. Last year there was 3,309.

NOBODY FROM WSU WILL EVER BE SATISFIED WITH ATTENDANCE! ESPECIALLY AN AWAY GAME ON A FREAKIN MONDAY! SIMMER DOWN BROTHREN!

I'd be happy if this team could average at least 8K a game :thumb:

I talked to a couple of ISU fans at the game last night, and they were also somewhat skeptical of the conference scheduling both Weber vs. ISU games on Monday nights. I told them that I believed the purpose was that ROOT Sports would be picking up both games and that is why the Monday night scheduling, but that I wasn't sure. I was sure that having the games on Monday nights would hurt both teams attendance and make it hard for the away teams fans to travel. However, I've been hearing that there were a number of Bengal fans at the Dee last night to watch women's basketball. If you can travel for the women, I'm sure you can travel for the men's team. It is afterall far more entertaining. I don't care about Ott being at Weber, just that we pay her to much to keep losing. We are stuck with women's basketball. might as well try to win once in a while.

Back to TV, I believe ROOT was suppose to broadcast 8 Monday night basketball games during the Big Sky season. I noticed that Altitude was broadcasting some Big Sky games, so did ROOT buy out the contract with the Sky and leave us in the lurch?

Tal, FYI, the Feb 11 game with ISU at Weber is going to be on Altitude, according to the Weber schedule.

WSUfan, NAU has finished their upgrades to the Skydome. Lumberjack games are broadcast in FoxSportsAZ (681 on Direct TV) in full HD. They now have bleacher seating next to the floor and improved lighting. Have not been to a game since the renovations.

I heard that Coach Murphy told the AD that there was no way they would play in the Rolle Center this season, and they have not so far.

Thanks for the info heyoh. MT Jack,do you have any input on the renovations down at NAU? I would like to see some pics if you have any for bball.

I haven't been in NAU's Walkup since they remodeled but from here in Phoenix I have watched a few NAU games on tv this year. It looks nice from what I could see. Much, much better than the Rolle Center from last year(I went to the Weber - NAU game last year). My high school gym at Bonneville was better. I'm glad they are back in the Walkup. Maybe it will help strengthen NAU's program again. The Big Sky needs some more strong teams besides Weber and Montana. I''m looking forward to the trip up to Flagstaff in March to see the Wildcats and the remodeled Dome.

According to an interview Mark Liptak of ISU radio did with Megan Lobdell of the conference office, the Big Sky is using the MWC model of Monday-Thursday-Saturday games now that they are playing 20 conference games. Every team in the league has one three-game week. The scheduling is done by an independent contractor who also does scheduling for the NBA and NHL. The Montana schools, I'm told, protested when their rivalry games were not originally scheduled for a Saturday, and the league acquiesced and moved those games to Saturdays. It seems to me the ISU and Weber ADs should also protest that their rivalry games should be played on Saturdays. Mondays are the worst, especially in LDS communities where Mondays are typically Family Home Evening. If the two schools did not protest this scheduling, they should have. If they did and the conference did not respond (as they apparently did for the Montanas), then shame on the conference office.

As far as ROOT Sports, they are done carrying Big Sky games for the season, according to the weekly Big Sky Conference release which lists all of the television games. ROOT carried two games in November and that's it for them.
