Thought this was interesting.. All UNC students got this e-mail today (Friday) in their Bear account. It reads:
Dear UNC students,
In my time at Northern Colorado, Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion has grown into one of the very best college basketball venues I’ve ever been in -- as a coach or a player. It’s become a place that our players absolutely love to play and our opponents have really started to dread.
And that’s all because of you, the energetic and loyal student fans of Northern Colorado men’s basketball. Our program has accomplished some great things this season, but none of it would have been possible without your outstanding support. You have been the energy behind our historic effort this season, and I and the rest of the Northern Colorado men’s basketball family genuinely appreciate everything you’ve given.
I want to take a quick moment to let you know the fun’s not over yet! We just claimed Northern Colorado’s first postseason victory since 1994 on Wednesday night against Portland in the opening round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT), and that earned us another home game at 7 p.m. Monday against the Pacific Tigers in the CIT Quarterfinals. By the time the game comes around, we’ll be one of just 40 Division I teams across the country still playing this season, and we need you to come and help us get even deeper into the CIT field.
The noise and the spirit you bring to our home games gives us an incredible edge, and we’re going to need every bit of energy you can spare to get another victory. We’ve worked incredibly hard this season to field a team that you can be proud of, and we’re in great position to win one more time in front of our home fans and further display Northern Colorado’s pride and spirit on a national stage. We need you to help us make that happen!
All UNC students with a valid student ID have gained free admission all season to our games, and that will remain the case Monday night. So, come early, stay late to enjoy our victory, and be loud in everything you do. It’s been a fun ride this year, and I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have.
Thanks for your time, and I’ll see you at Butler-Hancock!
