The EWU video mega-thread

That's really cool that he put that together. I wish I could rewatch the Nova game in its entirety. Definitely makes me even more excited to see what Mario can do this year with a bulk of the carries.

Yeah, Mario has a really interesting style of play. Watched that Nova video and he does a sort of "jump cut" a few times. Really shifty runner but also not scared to run it up the middle, either.

Interesting that he had such a good game against Nova, but really wasn't able to do much against UD. Was their run defense really that much better than Villanova's?

Statistically over the season, I don't think it was. Nova had the #7 ranked run-D coming into that game. I think that Nova just hadn't seen much tape of him to prepare, whereas UD got to see what he did against Nova. Who knows. He's shifty like TJ, and as a true freshman had great instincts, was a very N/S runner after his initial cut, and always seemed to get an extra yard or two after contact. I think he's gonna be a very special player for us the next three years. Also, like Vic has mentioned, I'm excited to see WR/RB Shaquille Hill play. He's a smaller version of TJ, at least from what I've seen in his HS videos. The future looks bright for EWU in the skill positions... great blend of size, speed and athleticism.

I agree about Mario, I think he is going to be a very special player for EWU and even though he played in the very big shadow of TJ for the majority of last season he has already provided glimpses of what he can do. He is small-ish, but EWU has had tons of success with smaller backs over the years. He is very physical for his size anyway, and in all reality he probably could be an every down back despite his size. The good news is we have depth there. Mario can run around people and Bronson and Beumonte can run them over.

Very athletic, looks great against the competition on the field. I hope we are recruiting some of those WR. Great blocking and great catches!!

That game was awesome. We scored the 56 with 11 minutes to play in the 4th... if we hadn't pulled the starters we would've scored in the low 70s. :nutkick: I wish we would just shellac an opponent and not let up at the end. I know it's poor sportsmanship and Baldwin has too much character to do that, but it'd still be fun to watch.

Also TJ's numbers in that game were ridiculous.
15 carries for 190 yards, 4 TDs, and 279 all-purpose. Doing WORK. :thumb:

Ummmm......errrr.......yeah.

Definitely rookie show material. Tame compared to the stuff we used to pull...

UW "Highlights", obviously done by a UW fan as there are a few of EWU's big plays missing.
