The PAC-MWC Dominoes Begin to Fall/Conference Realignment

Sure showed the value to product ratio this weekend.
We are so lucky to have pulled $13M NIL player Rashada from ASU and Miami.

They looked like freakin Keystone Kops out there. Where the hell is Curtis? He was only runner-up for the highest FCS award two years in a row and was a no show.

The $13M golden arm might have been off, but at least they could/should have been able to run 2-3 repetitive ground plays using the Oline who is all returning to drive the ball.

107 Total yards? :ROFLMAO:

This weekend's article is behind a paywall, but some are referencing it on X, claiming it reports that Sac State football has a $4 million roster.
Actually, because our admin embellishes everything to the point of flat out lying, Orr later clarified that $4M is for all athletics, not just football.

It is behaviour that should never have been, in my humble opinion. A core philosophy in public relations is managing expectations; under-promise and over-deliver. Public perception is reality. The best damage control is to stop talking and just get results.

This is an excellent article, thanks for posting Rat.

We are finally reaching the culmination of all the realignment and economic changes over the past 2+ decades in college athletics. The House Agreement put the final leg of transformation into a speed run. Our goal is to be in the 2nd tier of college athletics when the dust settles, fortunately we have leadership that recognizes this and is doing what they can to get us there.

Meh. All of our past admin has taken this route and gotten us nowhere. While I'm not a fan of all of what Dr. Wood has spouted off about, I don't have an issue with seeing someone finally take a different tact wrt Hornet athletics and athletic facilities.

I'm curious how that spending stacks up with the lower G5 programs.

Obviously spending doesn’t equate success.

All the kool aid drinkers using 70 new players was an issue to the poor showing excuse. I call BS, UNC Tarheels with 70 new players just carved up TCU on the opening drive.

He can be aggressive and ambitious, laying the groundwork without coming across as a desperate hustler selling a fake field of dreams, promoted by an astroturf campaign. Lacks serious credibility.

Of course it doesn't equate to success, it equates to competitiveness. The industry is now a pay for play model, either get with the times (which we are) or wallow away with whoever else fails to acknowledge/participate in the new model.

And Hoodie opened up his college coaching career with a 48-14 home loss on national television. The stadium emptied out early in the 3rd quarter. Perhaps he should re-retire and stick to chasing around coeds on campus.

Final score.....TCU 48 UNC 14......thats UNC with Belichick and 70 new players....kinda jumped the gun HeavyistheClown...

MWC needs one more school to continue sponsoring the sport (which they just started doing recently). So, they probably take one (or more) of the remaining schools in the MPSF as an affiliate.

Yeah. There are only 2 remaining schools. I'm curious where Sac State lands. Will the PAC or MWC consider ANY of our sports at all?

Gymnastics is one of those funny sports where more teams actually hinders the championship. 4-6 is a normal rotation, 12 is probably the limit for multi day championships with qualifying comfortably.

Track has the same problem, 14-18 schools at one conference championships is ridiculous. More so it leaves out opportunities for athletes.
