My gut says this doesn't leak unless there is some fire to this smoke. That said, I'll tamper my excitement until a formal announcement is made. The "no comment" from Hornet admin is very telling, and the article claiming conference sources stated that "they do have money" are positive indicators for this move. Overall I don't think there was a national writer that lined out all our positives in the manner that Dellinger did in this piece.

The MAC released its conference schedule in early March last year so this decision would align with a similar timeline for this years release. Interesting times ahead.
It takes money to make money. In the grand scheme of things, $15M isn't a lot for an FBS program.Shelling out big bucks for an FBS invite + a $5 million application fee is no joke.
But that's a good amount of resources just for a football-only situation. Additional women's scholarships would have to be added also.

With the changes from scholarship count to roster count and the increases for the various sports, I'd have to take another look at the Title IX implications but I've been told we wouldn't have an issue absorbing the change across our women's sports.
It's all ego and posturing. The nPAC was "too good" to take on an FCS program and the MW did an excellent job scrambling to fill out a 9 football playing membership of current FBS programs that they don't need an FCS addition. Also knowing that the MW media deal barely matches their old deal, it means it went backwards when you factor in inflation (although it's a great deal from an exposure standpoint) so unless the Sacramento market would have given a major boost on the monetary side, our addition wasn't mathematically worth it.The part I can’t get over is if it’s taking 10 million to join, how the MW is said to be against a team in its footprint with the money for NDSU that’s a tough pill to swallow. I know it’s cause of NDSU’s pedigree. But Sac has some pluses and so much potential how could you pass it up if your all of a sudden taking cash and FCS schools. I just don’t like the MAC move. Hopefully MW takes us both for the money.
