Nah, Bobby got it right. Those of us from the hood know what's up.“We are”, who taught these lugheads English?
I would be surprised if the announcement is events center related. My guess is that it's coaching related given the timing that he is letting this cat out of the bag. I think Dr. Wood/Orr will go with a "transformative" hire (gimmick) and bring in a name to bolster attention in the local community. Given how moribund the MBB program is, I don't have a problem with this approach.Wonder what the big basketball news is Dr. Wood is alluding to. Only 2 things matter. An arena and a coach.
Excellent post. There is nothing to gain by playing it safe, go for broke and see what happens. This is how I feel too… I appreciated the moonshot for the PAC. But, the longer we wait for the PAC and MWC to figure their sh|t out, the less viable this jump becomes.
I was initially anti-Indy, because of nightmare stories like UMASS. But, I think SAC can place themselves in a greater position of bargaining power on the FBS landscape if we’re already there. It gives cover to anyone wanting to add us as full members, grants time for facility improvements, and really just makes us more marketable in two years time. AND, might not have to offer things like forego full media payouts for 6 years to “belong.”
With the rumored football scheduling agreement with the PAC, we will be able to play a road heavy PAC schedule anyways, and create valuable viewership datapoints when we have to go back to the table. And, I have confidence in the Marion program to represent us well on a national stage, hopefully scaring the crap out of schools paying us 2x or 3x the FCS amount to play them on the road. Especially as FBS wins become more valuable than OOC FCS wins with the CFP.
By many accounts (to me, and via online rumors), this is a DONE deal. Much, but not all of the NIL will be activated. The administration is all-in. The process might not be perfect, but it’s more than I ever imagined we could ever do at SAC. After decades of having the “sleeping giant” moniker, Dr. Wood and company are busting out the air horns.
You are starting to sound more and more like that turd by the name of Movie Lover from davis who shows up here every year to complain about how rough around the edges Sac State fans are“We are”, who taught these lugheads English?

Why would I waste time here if I wasn’t a Sac fan? Duh.
Everyone pointed out that Populous architecture was invoked in stadium discussion and they only associate with big $$$ clientele and I was a fool to question the process. I posted we are only spending $2.5M on the initial phase of the stadium and that is peanut $.
If you want to be a sheep and not question anything, then baaah.
I think it is a fair question to wonder why anything on social media is using hood guttural English. We are an academic institution after all and should use proper formatted grammar.
Then explain how Populous builds $300M + facilities and we pop off $2.5M.Oh, stop crying Argentina. The vast majority that frequent this site behave far less like sheep than the average person, so stop with that nonsense.
As for you being a Sac State fan, I'll take you at your word. However your constant negative, condescending tone has painted a different picture to some so far. And, no, not just your questioning of "the process" (which is reasonable and something others are also doing).
Updated '26 schedule guess... worth nothing, but fun.
9/5/26 Vs. Cal Poly
9/12/26 @ Fresno State (Game is already scheduled)
9/19/26 Vs. Lamar (Game is already scheduled)
9/26/26 @ Boise State
10/3/26 @Wazzu
10/10/26 vs. San Jose State (If we COULD host an FBS team as a transitioning program, SJSU would be it)
10/17/26 @ UCONN (long trip to fellow Indy that thinks they might clip us for a W)
10/24/26 BYE
10/31/26 @ Oregon State (Hornets are 1-0 against the Beavers since 2011!)
11/7/26 vs. Tarleton State (home and home with another team with FBS dreams?)
11/14/26 @Colorado State (Lost to us 41-10 in 2022)
11/21/26 vs. UC Davis (Game is already scheduled)
11/28/26 @ Utah State
Agree… YES we want the UCLA game in a 3-5 yr series if possible. And do it while the opportunity is good w them wanting to minimize travel. For reasons I've stated before, you might be able to get a CAL or UCLA in there instead of UCD.
For those that feel UCD and Sac should keep the rivalry going, then the schools should have been working together to be in the same conference, etc like other school pairings. But that hasn't happened. They've been trying for separation.
YES - If we get FBS then we keep causeway make them play at our stadium,Agree… YES we want the UCLA game in a 3-5 yr series if possible. And do it while the opportunity is good w them wanting to minimize travel.
