Construction at Providence three days before our home finale? I don't like the tone of the email that went out. It was almost like we didn't push back, and we should have.

Just received that email as well. I have the same feelings as you.

Three days is going to make or break the construction schedule? It's not like they have a paying tenant with paying season ticket holders or anything. :-\

The tone of the email felt more like they really don’t give a a darn.

If they did, they would see that the season holders have the equivalent seating on the opposite side like they did at Hillsboro.

With rain in the forecast and no guarantee to be out of it, I see extremely low turn out. Possibly done on purpose for just another reason to clean house.

Sad for these seniors who have given so much to the program. Sorry boys.

From what I understand, we all are going to be on the west side with the Weber fans, is that correct? Similar to the old configuration when we shared it with baseball?

Yes, we are all on the west side for this last game. With 1500 showing up for the game I don't think they were too worried about offending a fan base. And that type of turn out doesn't give the Admin much ammunition to push back...

Cue Pounder coming in here and telling us all to "suck it", in 3...2...1...

:ohno:

Part of me questions if the Timbers tanked the game Sunday because of this. Damn.

That's to say that there were tweets from the club last week mentioning that they were storming right in and starting up on the first set of requirements. There was equipment on site bright and early Monday morning.

Just so you know, the "ground work" probably all gets done over the winter, probably including the supports they will use for load-bearing (I think). There will be no exhibitions in February and no home games until April. They are dead determined to get things in place for 2019 (though they've already mentioned that the 2019 schedule will mirror 2018; late home start).

Sorry, but this just reeks of a bully once again throwing his weight around. I have to agree with marty, three days was not going to break the schedule. They could have let the other tenant finish their schedule before moving forward. Or they could have communicated their intentions to PSU beforehand instead of marching right in. Just a chicken-crap move on the part of the Timbers.
