Thoughts after 2 weeks of the Season

Texas Tech, West Virginia, and California all equal the three FBS opponents you just mentioned and then add in Colorado, Washington, Washington State, Idaho, and Nevada. A couple of those teams may not be very good, but they're still FBS and they still have bigger players and a lot more depth. A lot tougher opponents than Fort Lewis College and whatever other high school teams have visited WaGriz the past few years.

You really think the Griz would have won in Pullman last week? Doubtful.

Wrong......We don't land the UNLV's, Washington State's and Idaho's of the FBS....Instead, we end up playing Iowa, Oregon, and Tennessee. Which most of the time result in a loss and won't help our chances of making the playoffs, which is why so many of us in Griz-land were so excited to see an all FCS schedule.

The reason the Griz don't land those types of teams is because you have a high price tag. My guess is the Griz take no less than $400k for an FBS game, or somewhere in that range. They won't take $150K to play Idaho because they will make more for a home game then to travel for an FBS payday. Only top tier FBS programs are going to pay the type of money the Griz need to make it worth while, that is why you only play those programs. Your success has something to do with FBS teams not wanting to schedule you, but it is primarily money based.
The griz are lucky enough to have a program with a lot of money, besides MSU (and I don't know their situation) almost all of the other schools in the big sky don't make a lot of money on football, if any. Thus the games we are forced to play and the trouble with scheduling out west in the FCS.

Best part about all of these arguments....the game will be played in 15 days....we will find out soon enough...

Good point.. Forgot to mention the money aspect. We make approximately $350,000 off a home game. So yes, we're very expensive. You are a very inteligent poster and I agree with your last statement. I cannot wait for this game, however, we gotta take care of business in the next couple of weeks for our match-up to remain meaningful.

Thanks and looking forward to the game...hopefully you will be out with the Griz faithful...it will be a Great game and there will be some Great tailgating. If you make the game, we will have some cold ones at the tailgate for ya. Good Luck the next 2 weeks, the better all of the big sky does in non-conf play, the better it is for our league and the big sky playoff team's seeds at the end of the year. So wins for Montana agains S. Dakota and Liberty are big for everyone, just like our win against Idaho helped the league out.

You're clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Bottom line, is that turnovers have killed us thus far, which will happen when you have a RS Frosh at QB. Clean up those mistakes and this team is VERY, VERY good. :coffee:

Of course the Griz looked good against USD; they're on par with Idaho. And App is overrated.

http://sagarin.com/sports/cfsend.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

EWU (87):
17 pt win over Idaho (168) - on the road
4 pt loss to WSU (91)

UM (116):
11 pt win over USD (162) - at home
8 pt loss to ASU (121)

Tell you what though, with the way our D is playing, if McKinney has turnover problems against EWU, it will be a long day.

App is overrated :? You beat a garbage team and hang around with another garbage team, and land a spot in the top 25. If anything, its you who are overrated. Why is Sac State, or NAU not in the top 25 now? Shoot, they played BETTER competition, and beat the likes of UNLV and Colorado!!!

If WSU is another garbage team at 91, then what is App State at 121? Or UM at 116? Garbage I guess.

NAU beat the highest ranked FBS team, albeit by the slimmest of Margins. If anything, they SHOULD be ranked, and ahead of the Griz. Sac barely beat CU, who is on par with Idaho. Again, by the slimmest of margins. EWU dominated UI from start to finish. 3 points, and since according to you we can discount blown coverage (66 of UI's yards came on one blown play), then we held them to under 200 yards of offense. :coffee:

You and the Bobscats have a lot in common. You both are so sick of getting beat by the Griz, that every year you hope they are down so that you can beat them, and every year you are disappointed :crybaby: Face it, the only year your two programs have had the upper hand was in 2010, when we were breaking in a new scheme on offense and defense. Year, after miserable year, you convince yourselves that IT WILL HAPPEN, and then the reality rears it's ugly head

If only the Griz were as big as they are in your mind, they'd win the NC every year, instead of choking in the big game. Seems to me there's a lot of Griz fans stuck in 2001.

 Last time I checked your vaunted Eags were sitting at home at the end of their last season, not surprisingly watching the Griz make another deep playoff run. Fact is, once your team had the bulls-eye on their back they couldn't live up to their own hype.

Don't compare us to MSU..that's far from the truth! We don't have a history of choking like the two Montana schools

You gotta make it to the big games to choke friend. MSU and EWU rarely make appearances in the big games :coffee:

The same argument was made last year regarding 2010 for the Griz. :coffee:

What we didn't survive was the injury bug. UM just couldn't survive their turnovers... hmmm, kind of like they're having this year so far.

Last year was all about injuries, not having the target on their backs. They came within two plays of picking up wins in Missoula and Seattle!

Keep making excuses.......we had injuries....blah blah blah.....kind of like in 2010 for the Griz eh.......

We'll see who has a better season this year.. Enjoy living in the past as that's all the Griz have to hold on to.

Seems to me you're in no position to be throwing stones in regard to "living in the past," when you keep alluding to your 2010 NC run.
