Thoughts after 2 weeks of the Season

Please hm.grwn.grizfan, tell me how App State is not overrated? 52-28 final. Doesn't matter how tough The Citadel ( :lol: ) is, you don't get blown out like that at home if you're a top 20 team.

ASU = Overrated.
ASU > UM.
UM = Overrated.

If Padron plays to its potential, EWU could dominate the passing game!

Love the Pac12 station and their 60 min replay. That said, I thought Padron played extremely well. Considering he has only had 6 weeks of practice running this offense, his 300+ yards per game avg speaks volumes. Remember Bo had the Spring and Fall and he still struggled early in 2010. That said, Padron's completion % needs to improve. Some is on him, some on the receivers who have dropped too many passes. 3 All Americans and only 1 is playing like one. Pass protection is horrible. Our tackles are slow and weak. Lastly, play calling could also improve. You slow the rush down by throwing the screen pass. However, our backs drop the ball. Get it? It's a team thing. Everything must come together, not just Padron, for our passing game to work. EWU beat 2 Div 1 teams on the road yardage wise. We lost on the scoreboard in the 2nd game and should do better when we aren't manhandled up front. Weber won't be easy, however, they are more on our level. By the way, Padron is playing hurt due to taking too many hits. Protection is a must.

This. I think he's progressing very well and very quickly, but his growth (and the team's success) is certainly not a one man job. I totally agree that he's been taking too many shots, and hopefully that lessens as we get into Big Sky play. Can't wait for Weber next weekend!

agreed on the pass protection, it was not good versus Idaho and basically poor versus Wazzooo. Some of those hits are on KP though as he sometimes tends to hold on the the ball too long or muscle out of tackles instead of getting rid of it. and I hope the 2 weeks off will really help everyone get a little healthy especially our starting qb who has taken way too many hits.

Screaming-Eagle 174,
I am offering you a ride to and from EWU on Wednesday about 3.00 pm. You will be able to see what is going on. Saturday, Certified Welder was working on Scoreboard stand(s). Going to VB Game tonight, will miss Coach Hayford Coaches Talk at Northern Quest.

Give me a call if you cannot make it. Coach Baldwin and some of the Players that stayed here for the weekend, were working out at Roos Field. Coach Beau still has it in those "Old Shoulders" throwing the FB. He lookes like he was a hell of a QB, at Central. :nod: :nod: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Vernon Adams were trying to take Nick Edwards, Brandon Kaufman, Greg Heard, Cory Mitchell job as WR. He has some great hands, and I have never seen a person with that much "ENERGY" :lol: :lol: Seemed like the Players that were there had fun with the Coach Baldwin. Vic
