Tim Huskisson continues his BB career

Here is an article from the UNC website showing the former Bears playing at the next level. I still can't figure out how Tim H. wasn't a full time starter for the Bears. This season will be different for me as I won't have my nephew playing. I will be watching and pulling for the Bears. Good luck men!!!!

Former @unco_mbb Huskisson Begins Professional Career in Cyprus

CYPRUS – Former Northern Colorado men's basketball forward Tim Huskisson begins his professional career this season, signing with Enosis Neon Paralimni, a Division A team in the Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBF).

Huskisson brings some much needed size to Enosis, a team that finished just 6-12 in 2014.

In his four years at Northern Colorado Huskisson tallied 1,058 points, becoming the 21st player in program history to reach the 1,000 point mark. He currently sits 20th all-time in scoring in the UNC record book.

During his final season with the Bears, Huskisson averaged 10.7 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, and had a shooting percentage of .577, helping the Bears to their fourth Big Sky postseason tournament in five years.

Enosis begins their season on Oct. 30.

This will be Huskisson's first year as a professional and joins Tate Unruh and Derrick Barden among former players in the pros.

Barden is currently in Luxembourg playing for Soleuvre, while Unruh recently signed with Marso Nyiregyhazi KK, a Division A team in Hungary, after playing in Australia with the Ringwood Hawks.

The 2015-16 Northern Colorado men's basketball season gets underway this Friday, Oct. 2, as the Bears conduct their first official practice of the year at 4:30 p.m.

UNC opens their non-conference schedule at Kansas on Nov. 13 at 6:00 p.m. (MT). That game can be seen on ESPN e that tell about forner Bears playing at the next level.

That's awesome. What a great place to live and play basketball. I wonder if they get to play teams in Turkey like Fenerbahce or Galatasaray? The fans there are bonkers.

I agree with you about Tim not being the full time starter....He was and is a very talented player who I always worried about when my Hornets played UNC.....I also happened to meet Tim in an elevator in Ogden during the BSC tournament in 2014, and he was a very nice young man....I too wish him the very best in his basketball career....

IMHO, you have touch on the art of coaching... If you look at Tim's career he was an absolute beast during his junior season when he was a consistent starter. It obviously doesn't matter at this time as it's to late... It still just makes me wonder...

Congrats Tim! (Although Im sure you'll never see this) I think its safe to say Tim belongs on the All Time "could have been" team at UNC. Not to say that he was a bad player, he was a great player for the Bears. But he had Big SKy MVP type potential and I dont think he even made and all conference team during his tenure. That being said, what a great kid. Congratulations!

This was my exact point!!! When you have a horse you put him in every race you can and let him run. I've stated it before, Tim would have been one of UNC's all time greats had Hill just stayed off the whip and let him run.

I know some on this board will say he fouled to much. But that's the art of coaching I reference. Tell a kid he is a star then watch him become one!!!

Tev is back in Texas. Still in training but not on the basketball court. He has a job for a prosthesis company. He will be covering hospitals in the Dallas area where he goes into surgery with the orthopedic surgeons assisting with the technical aspect of knee/hip replacement surgery. He is enjoying the next chapter of his life.

Thanks for agreeing, sometimes I wondered if I was to close to the situation and had a skewed sense of reality.

Eurobasketball does have some stats for Tate and Derrick:

Derrick Barden is playing for Soleuvre in Luxenbourge. He is averaging 23pts and 14 rebounds.

Tate Unruh plays in Hungary for Marso NYKK. He is averaging 16.5 pts per game. Both guys look like they start and play 33 plus minutes a night.

Finally some stats: Tim has been playing 3 different position from the 2 to 3 to 4. He has started all the games and leads the team in minutes played at 31.4/game. He is averaging 12.4 pts/game.

Still make me wonder how he couldn't crack Hill's line up. As for foul trouble, it looks like he is capable of playing many more minutes a night than he got at UNC. My guess is he was always capable. IMHO Hill just didn't know how to massage Tim's true talent.

A final update on Tim. His season appears to be over with his squad getting beat out of the playoffs in the first round by probable league champs.

His final stats for the year: Started all 21 games, lead the team in minutes played at 32. shot 57% from the field, 26% from 3 pt line. 6.8 rebounds per game and averaged 15 pts a game. The 15 was good for 2nd highest on the team.

It will be interresting to see where he ends up this Summer and next year. Still shaking my head about how the kid couldn't crack Hill's starting five the majority of his career at UNC.
