TJ

Evidently, Roland McClain knocked him out of practice a week and a half ago. At the time, coach Jackson said Jones suffered either a hamstring or groin injury. Could be lingering.

That sucks, I was looking forward to seeing him getting some playing time in the pre-season.

:ohno: Dislike.

I remember reading a tweet last week that TJ got lit up in one of the practices, something about "Welcome to the NFL rookie." Sucks to hear. I have no doubt that when healthy he can around and past NFL defenses, but the problem is obviously staying healthy.

Looks like TJ was back at practice today, not sure if he has been at practice since injury. From what I read, he was injured on 1st day and has been out since, not sure if this is true or not. Hopefully he will be on the field this saturday as I think he can put up some big time numbers in these pre season games.

The Raiders knew when they drafted him that he was a big gamble because of his inability to stay healthy. I think that is the reason so many people were surprised that he opted to go pro... he really needed an extra year to put on some weight.

Taiwan is back.

Yeah, glad to hear that. We're going over Friday AM to catch the Seahawks vs Raiders on Friday and then watch the Eagles castrate theose dogs!

Tj will play on Sunday and I just saw a tweet that mentioned that Oakland has developed a unique package to take advantage of his speed.

Hell yeah. :thumb: I'm heading over Friday morning so I'll have to get a ticket and go watch.

Quote below from Raider head coach, here's the link. Raiders play New Orleans Sunday night, short week as they are in Seattle Friday night. Hope it works out for a lot of Eagle fans to attend and root for #36.

Q: Taiwan Jones got a swing pass and shot down the sideline and you seemed to be watching that, what did you think of his speed on that play?

Coach Jackson: Oh my gosh, can he run. I mean, he can go and I am very excited. We have a lot of skill. We have guys that can do a lot of different things and it is my job along with Al Saunders and our offensive coaching staff just to create something for these guys where they all can showcase their talent and abilities and I think we are getting closer. I am going to be excited to watch him playing the game because he is a lot tougher than what people think he is. I think he has some extreme talent, but again that is out here on the practice field and he needs to do it in a game.

Q: What ways is he different than let’s say [Darren] McFadden or [Michael] Bush? Is he any different?

Coach Jackson: He is fast man. Gosh can this guy run. He is extremely fast. He is very nimble and he is very smooth and I don’t think sometimes knows he is running that fast. For a guy that is built like he is, he is very physical. There is a lot of velocity behind the man when he runs into a pile and I have been excited to watch him out here in practice and we are going to make sure that we crank him up this weekend and let him run.

Awesome. It sucks I'm going to be working, but at least there are TVs on where I work so I'll get to take in bits and pieces of it.

Taiwan had a great catch and run of about 30 yards or so but again negated by a penalty. Jesus the Raiders are hard to watch. :ohno:

One things for certain - when he gets in space he can make plays just like he did in college. On both of those plays he looked very fast.

TJ scores his first NFL TD! A 22-yard run off-tackle! I think he's up to around 60+ yards now, with most of those in the second half. Stats would be better if he hadn't had those two plays wiped out by penalties.

And EWU got a plug on Sunday Night Football, which is always good. :thumb:

Sorry, just realized that I am watching the game on satellite...not sure if it's on local or not in the Spokane area.
