Transfer Portal

So have Cormier and Knudson. Duff is leaving to be Idaho St.’s D coordinator so there is some good news!!! Duff couldn’t design a defense to stop a 3rd grade team! All the coaches and Crompton can lick my back door!!

Well, it looks like we're losing some of our top players again this year. I think the days of building a lasting program with freshmen is over, or at least on it's last leg. However, the portal is not what it was a few short years ago either. The good players in the portal are looking for a payday. Most of them in the six figures range. The leftovers are mostly what nobody wanted anyway. That leaves JC and D11 transfers who are also gambles. Programs at our level are between a rock and a hard spot. I'm hoping we get lucky and find some gems out there who can come right in and contribute. We shal see.

Hope Richie the best. Good luck going forward. Personally, I feel the open transfer portal and NIL (used for recruiting) are hurting college athletes. Let's all remember that they are student-athletes. The vast majority will never be professionals in their sports. I do agree that they are entitled to more support and through their industry NIL opportunity. BUT what is happening in college athletics is damaging the kids...Richie will be another casualty much like Barron was before him. BUT, that is me. I really do hope he gets a chance to play in the future.

Ditto! NIL may be great for the athlete (not students anymore) but it definitely is ruining the game for me. 4 year kids are almost a faint memory. Loyalty is gone. Seeing the same players every year was a great part of the fan experience. Now you just barely learn a player's name and number and he's gone. Weber has turned into a training ground for BYU and other bigger schools. And what about that schedule for 2025. Making a million bucks is great but do you really want to get blown out by Arizona and James Madison? Who built this schedule? TERRIBLE! Do they really need the money that much? Where is that money going? Football, all programs, the athletes or to fatten the wallet of the coaches? I think there needs to be a reckoning for all of it.
Now for some rambling!
The whole NCAA football system makes me want to barf. I want so badly to support the program but it seems so rinky dinky compared to MSU and Montana. Weber seems to have an attitude that everyone gets to play and everyone gets a trophy. They really don't give a shizz about winning and competing at the highest level possible. Thats just wrong. (That loss to Northern Colorado still burns.) We've fallen below the threshold that I never thought we'd get to. It sucks.
If we just keep accepting a mediocre athletic department then that's what we'll get.
Rambling over! I'll feel better tomorrow!

I see most are being diplomatic and being polite but I’m just a realist and just not as kind. I say good luck to our RB’s but not to Richie (turnover machine) Munoz or to the staff leaving. Munoz was a turd this year and a big part of why the team sucked ass, and the coaching staff isn’t qualified to run a pee wee team. Screw those losers and here’s hoping we suck next year so Mental (ly handicapped) gets shit canned, and I hope Richie gets stuck at either a D2 school or transfers somewhere his small, slow, side armed throwing ass gets obliterated!!

I can’t imagine Munoz landing in a better spot tbh. I don’t know the kid, I really hate singling kids out on here unless they’re making boneheaded plays consistently (i.e. our senior wide receiver this year), but he’s no longer a Wildcat so…
Munoz is undersized, slow, and doesn’t have a big arm. I often wondered if our reluctance to attack the middle of the field was related to his height. I just don’t see him starting at many division 1 programs. We were functional as an offense when he wasn’t turning the ball over, but the offense had a very low ceiling with him at QB.

With all that said, I’m sure Mental will still only have our next QB throw slants, screens, and fades. That seems to be the extent of his imagination.
