Transfer portal

Our of hand as is NLI. I heard part of Claipari reason he was attracted to Arkansas is the amount of NLI money he could offer recruits. If true college sports is officially a business... big business

Rumor is that most of the remaining players are all being recruited to WSU. However, I have heard that they are all reluctant to go because of perceived playing time. Staying at EWU sounds like a safer bet in that regard, but it remains to be seen who Monson will bring in.

Monson’s first priority should be retaining the guys left on the roster because there’s talent there…while simultaneously hitting the portal hard.

Looked hard at Long Beach State's roster and stats. They lost some good seniors and Dan's kid doesn't play much. Don't see alot left that may come with him unless as graduate transfers of which a couple could be of benefit.

Here are three commits added to the roster per verbalcommits.com.

Andrew Cook - JR - Shooting Guard - 6'4" -200lbs - Carroll College

Angelo Winkel - SO - Power Forward - 6-9"- 230lbs - Des Moines Area Community College

Elijah Thomas - SO - Shooting Guard - 6'6" - 180lbs - Des Moines Area Community College

So far, from what I see, this is what the roster looks like at this point:

Returners
- Vice Znki - SO - Forward - 6'8" - 210lbs - saw playing time 23/24

Sorry! I missed one of the transfers:

Tyler Powell - SR (I think) - Guard/Forward - 6'5" Forward - Nevada 2021-2024 - previous Seton Hall. He is on the roster for 223-24 season but there are no states. So not sure if he redshirted and is coming in as a Redshirt Junior or a Senior. All I know is that he has two years of eligibility left.

This was just posted 2 hours ago on SWX as well.

I like the new additions so far. Cook should give us more scoring punch at PG, although filling Magnuson's shoes defensively will be very difficult. A healthy Mason Williams could make this a dangerous backcourt. Winkel looks like a smaller although quicker version of Price. Can shoot the 3, runs the court well, and can finish around the rim. Finally, Thomas might give us the defensive presence we lose with Watts. Hard to know what the starting 5 looks like at this point, but it's good to see the roster fill out this early.

Sam Stockton - 6'2" Guard - LC State College - G-Prep Highschool

2023-24 - SENIOR: Appeared in all 33 games making 25 starts ... led the Warriors in field goal percentage (.611), assists (93), steals (45) and tied for the team-lead in blocked shots (24) ... averaged 7.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game ... totaled 242 points and 170 boards ... scored career-high 19 points against Corban (2/10/24) ... career-high 12 rebounds against Multnomah (1/21/24) ... notched one double-double ... finished career with sixth-best field goal percentage in program history (.602)
