As I watch the NBA finals games I've often asked myself if I could imagine Tyler on the floor, I don't think so.sacstateman said:Draft Express has Harvey as the 60th pick as of June 10th.....

Probably due to lack of defensive skills, not able to defend like Dellie or Clay Thompson.sacstateman said:clawman said:As I watch the NBA finals games I've often asked myself if I could imagine Tyler on the floor, I don't think so.sacstateman said:Draft Express has Harvey as the 60th pick as of June 10th.....
Those are the two top teams....try to imagine him on one of the lower tiered teams and you may be able to imagine him there.....but I agree, it is hard to see him contributing to the Warriors or Cavaliers....

I agree 100%. I think Tyler is much more likely to thrive on a team with a James or a Curry/Thompson because of the open looks it will give him. He will most likely never be asked to carry an NBA team but rather be a complementary player that drives opposing teams crazy when he's left open due to a superstar being doubled. The NBA is a shooting "make or miss" league now which all of the GM's are acknowledging. All GM's keep saying is that they need shooters. That doesn't guarantee Harvey gets drafted but I believe there is a place for him in the league. Remember, Delli didn't get drafted either but made a roster.marceagfan5 said:I think the NBA finals is actually going to help Tyler. What the finals has shown is basically the NBA is moving towards a shooting league and away from the huge, slower players. Tyler can shoot the 3, he will play. Pretty sure Cleveland would love to have him shooting some 3's right now.
Rafter_Reese said:Well, I don't know how else to say it. Harvey was absolutely dominant on offense in today's game against Indiana. They gave him more minutes and all he did was produce 24 points in 25 minutes. To add to his stat-line he also contributed 5 assists and a steal. He is shooting the ball just like he always does but continues to impress when he takes the ball to the hole. He's finishing in the paint with consistency. Tyler played two positions today, both the 1 and the 2. He scored well playing both positions. I was actually really impressed with him playing the 1. He distributed the ball well (5 assists) and showed great ball-handling. He dimed a guy cutting back-door for a dunk. The announcers had nothing but praise for his scoring ability. I'm not sure what this means in terms of his chance to make the Orlando roster, but I know it can't hurt things. He might be a couple of years away from really becoming the player that he can be and securing a year-after-year roster spot. All I know is that Orlando desperately needs shooting and he has been instant offense so far. He's hit 7 out of 13 three-point attempts for a 53.8% three-point average and scored 36 points in roughly 59 minutes. The numbers don't lie. He's made 15 of his 26 field goal attempts for 57.6%. That's incredibly efficient. Even if he doesn't make the Orlando roster, I think it just means they want to take time to develop him. Add some strength, continue to work on defense, etc. His defense isn't horrible but it is definitely the area of his game that needs the most improvement. There were some extremely important NBA exec types there today watching as well. I couldn't help but notice Larry Bird (President of Indiana Pacer Basketball Operations) sitting in the front row. Harvey is getting his name out there early. This will set him up long term. Not sure what the rest of the summer looks like for Orlando (blue). The summer league tourney they were in is wrapping up.
Way to represent EWU Tyler. I heard Greg Anthony mention EWU a couple of times. That's good exposure on the NBA network.
go Eags!
