UC Davis Game

Despite complaining on both boards about past performances, there is actually a game being played this weekend. What are your strengths and weaknesses? For the Aggies, our defense has been significantly stronger than our offense - a big change from DII days when we were a strong passing team. Our rushing game has been improving this year with several strong performances. The Aggie board is at http://aggiesportstalk.yuku.com/forums/63/Aggie-Football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

UC Davis has developed a disconcerting habit of occasionally losing to teams they should beat, something they didn't do in DII. In recent years for example, DII Western Washington (just before they dropped football), Northeastern (just before they dropped football), DII Humboldt State and non-scholarship San Diego.

We're perfectly capable of beating the Aggies, but I'm sure we will have 3 personal fouls and 15 false starts. Just crap mistakes that have plagued this team.

What are our weakness? I'd say offense, defense and special teams.

SO TRUE... :notworthy:

If this year is like a student taking classes, UNC is getting an "F" and UC Davis is getting a "D". Not much difference - we should both repeat the class until we get at least a C-. I think we both hoped to be at the "B" level by this time after leaving DII. We still have fond memories of being in the DII playoffs most years and having 9-2 and 10-1 seasons.

Thanks for the news
This is kinda like a bad movie......its painful to watch, you know how its going to end, but you just have to look

Final UC Davis 34 UNC 18
Bears didn't give up at the end - I wish we could have said that last week against Montana.

Didn't give up at the end? I'd argue they have given up on the season. I quit watching at halftime it was embarrassing. For me now apathy is setting in, the thought never even crossed my mind to go up for the game, at this point just losing out will be best because if they win a couple people will start acting like things are fine.

You were down 31-7 and it ended up 34-18. Last week our team just threw up their hands in the second half and let Montana score at will. I didn't see that with UNC. The first half was ugly for the Bears, but not so much the second half.

Scoring in garbage time is just that, scoring in garbage time. The game was over when you guys walked down the field on the opening drive and scored with ease. Scoring a couple TD's when the game is over and the other team is warming up their bus and checking they watches against their airplane schdule doesn't mean anything.

That's my opinion.

Exactly, this team was done before they even hit the field. How UC Davis was able to walk down the field and score proves that. The last month of the season is going to be a long one. I mean this team is not even being competitive. UNC might as well have not even shown up, it would've looked the same.

He's technically right, they didn't give up at the end, they gave up at the beginning. Not one person on the UNC sideline seemed to give a damn from the opening kickoff onward. Embarrassing performance.
