This. I absolutely hate watching us sit back in zone all the time.At least the defense is playing more aggressively and getting pressure on the QB. That's what needs to happen.
Yea well I'll believe it when he can actually connect with a receiver downfield in stride at least a few times.i don't recall seeing a clean pocket. he throws it just fine, there are many more factors but won't bore you with the details.
Hey, he did it once! LoL. In all seriousness he did have some bad overthrows but did make a couple of nice touch throws.Yea well I'll believe it when he can actually connect with a receiver downfield in stride at least a few times.
Yeah, showed some fight there towards the end of the half. It's far from the worst I've seen us play in the past 3 years. With as bad as that first quarter was, it's hard to be upset with a 3-point game at half.
Not great, and probably a third of that yardage was on one play.Taylor, 11/17, 106 yards, O TD, 1 INT.
Torres, 19/25 238 yards, 1 TD. 0 INT.
me too. there have been several moments that look like coaching lapses in how players are responding to a situation and it's difficult for me to think the passing game doesn't share in some of those too. i just know he used to be able to throw a decent deep ball for 2 seasons of no loss football and doubt he has completely forgotten how to do it now. it's very catchable but it does take the WR to complete the equation and i'm not giving them a pass either.Yea well I'll believe it when he can actually connect with a receiver downfield in stride at least a few times.
if I didn't know better I'd say there were a couple balls where it looked the like receiver gave up.me too. there have been several moments that look like coaching lapses in how players are responding to a situation and it's difficult for me to think the passing game doesn't share in some of those too. i just know he used to be able to throw a decent deep ball for 2 seasons of no loss football and doubt he has completely forgotten how to do it now. it's very catchable but it does take the WR to complete the equation and i'm not giving them a pass either.
wont make any excuses for him but also remember there's an entirely new offensive line out there, and basically new starting receivers minus Ulm.Yea well I'll believe it when he can actually connect with a receiver downfield in stride at least a few times.
Bell threw the pickTaylor, 11/17, 106 yards, O TD, 1 INT.
Torres, 19/25 238 yards, 1 TD. 0 INT.
Thanks, completely missed that. And, it begs the question of why we had our backup QB throwing into the endzone on a 1ST DOWN.Bell threw the pick
he is playing well. poised. that 15 yarder opened up the next run play for sure. but the attempts have made UIW have to defend the pass as well. something eastern rarely did last year with kekoa. who btw, had a good game for tennessee tech against cumberland. We can all agree we need more out of the passing game. He needs to connect on a couple of those deep shots to keep the defense honest.
That said and all things considered, I think he's played well, especially on those two long option plays for TD's. If Taylor's not playing those don't happen.
all good. seriously cracked me up with that observation. Thanks, completely missed that. And, it begs the question of why we had our backup QB throwing into the endzone on a 1ST DOWN.
And that hasn't been mentioned much at all. It's hard to say how long it takes a new crew to gel completely but I'd say they've been "ok" so far.wont make any excuses for him but also remember there's an entirely new offensive line out there, and basically new starting receivers minus Ulm.
