You’re putting an additional 5 yards between them and the end zone by accepting the penalty. If you force an incompletion or even get a stop on a short run on 3rd down, that’s still a better position than outting them on your own 2 yard line!
Yea it was good, they opened up the offense, threw downfield and stopped the 3 QB nonsense.
It’s a tough call and hindsight is always 20/20.

I think you guys are missing the forest for the trees here. Whatever call Best made isn't going to make the defense not hot garbage.

Wow. Whatever you saw that earned the Defense a passing grade, no matter how bad, is a mystery. That was abysmal. Montana plays a backup QB and gashes us over and over. That was a failing grade in my book.
+1. Defense was an F. You don’t give up 700 yards and 52 points and get a passing grade.
Yep. That’s the worst Montana defense I’ve witnessed in a long time.
No doubt the team played a lot better yesterday in two of the three phases. Offense was very good and special teams did a lot right as well. The problem, and this has been a near perpetual problem, is that those units need to be perfect because the defense is so tragic. When you have one unit play this constantly bad, it cripples the team. There has been no improvement in the area that would statistically be the easiest to correct.
