So...the UNCO game didn't go so well. We lacked toughness and defensive intensity. One thing about the Sky, which is a bit unusual, is that there are a bunch of very mature and veteran teams. The cubbies are one of those teams. They have a handful of senior players, who are major contributors. Losing to Weber, on their court, against, what they deem as a rival wasn't going to happen. After halftime they took the floor determined. Weber didn't match the cubbies intensity. Heavens it seemed they didn't even want to play. That could be youth, lack of leadership, no team chemistry a number of things. Weber is talented enough to beat every team. They just don't seem very excited to rise to the challenge.

On a side note, I really like Hill. He is a good kid, who has a bright future. What frustrates me is that he has sooo much talent. He is smart and a good character kid. He just seems lost at times. There are moments he is sooo smooth and efficient, and then there are those times he disappears on the court. I want him to succeed. I want them all to succeed. Yet, being a scholarshipped player brings with it a level of necessary accomplishment and success. If you aren't meeting the committed expectation then you run the chance of losing your support. That how it is with every scholarship, that's how it is in life.

Where did you get the idea that UNC believes Weber is a rival? I for one don't consider you guys a rival.

Beardown not trying to shake the boat here, and I'm definitely not trying to under-value your cubbies victory on Saturday. It was an ass kicking. I'm only reporting what was told to me. I was at the Butler-Hancock for the game. While there, most of the fans I talked to said, for conference, that Weber was their biggest rival. They all mentioned CSU and WYO as being bigger rivals, but for conference they consider Weber the biggest. I always thought it was UND, but I was corrected on Saturday night. Personally, I've never considered UNCO a rival. More than once I was told that Saturday nights game was the biggest home game of the year for the Bears. Sponsors had Bears shirts on every seat, and the place was virtually packed. Great atmosphere. I loved it...other than the butt kickin.

No, I know you didn't mean any harm. I only asked because I personally don't think Weber is a rival. We haven't won the title enough to actually warrant a decent rival. North Dak, maybe, but only because we were in the same D2 conference. Anyways, glad you had a good time. Butler can be a really great environment. It's small, but it gets pretty loud.

It looked like a good crowd watching the stream and the students looked engaged and like they were enjoying themselves. Speaking of that, I liked the crowd at the Sac St. game, the student sections looked as good as they have all year.

Thanks SW....we managed to pack 1400 sardines into a 1012 capacity can.....it was a real blast at the game....everyone was extremely engaged in the action....already sold out for Portland St next Saturday

Looks like your vote on the new arena happened 3 months too early.

That quite possibly could be true.....the Prez still has discretion but that is improbable....

Yeah Bear...it was a really fun game. Other than Weber getting served. :ohno: I was taken back a bit by the rivals remark, but it could have a lot to do with distance. Weber is the closest school, in the conference, to UNCO, so...that could be a possible reason. And, most of the games between the two schools are usually hard fought contests. No matter, the Bears have a really good chance of making the run. The Bears are good and have great leadership on the court. Should be an interesting second half. Good luck!!

Yeah...I always have my fingers crossed that Sac will get an upgrade on its facilities. Great hearing that next weeks game against PSU is sold out.

   WOW just...wow :wall: :wall: . I've never read a sting of so much unintelligible jumble in all my life from one poster. 3Wildacts is super classy... I think I really would like this kid's autograph. I can tell you are trying to argue, but it is really difficult to understand what you are arguing. But I'm sure it makes sense inside your own head.

and now I'm done feeding the troll....

Sir Velo, you told me no way Weber loses two home games this year in conference play. I think its fair to say that this team has been a disappointment with all the excitement and hype about the athleticism and talent this year....we were even predicted to be first this year in the Big Sky. I think its safe to say that's not going to happen. I agree with Tal (I know that sound crazy), things need to change or be shaken up a bit or we'll probably end up right where we are, in the middle of the pack and watching the tournament in March without a horse in the race.

This was a game in which we were not worthy to be on the floor with a team playing at the level UNCO played. Forget the solution to make us better, the cold truth is that we don't have the talent. Our post players got mistreated..... The scrawny players at UNCO were stronger and had better skills than the Weber post players.

I loved the earlier drug infested conversation about Senglin playing point at the next level. He's not playing point at this level! It was inspiring watching UNCO and the skill in which they ran their offense, hoping someday we can say that about Weber again.

We are going to find out if Rahe has the guts to make some tough decisions because we are in deep do do.
I'm tired of all the accolades being thrown at Hill...... He looks like Bambi out there! He was so afraid, I thought he might take a crap at any time! We didn't have one player that stood out in that game! If I was UNCO I wouldn't look to us as a rival either! :wtf:

Ha!! I find it funny that Tal gets attacked for making some sense, which is definitely a first for him. He should have been rewarded not attacked. He was making sense for once. Only time he makes sense is when he copies my posts. I've been saying for weeks that the starting lineup should change.

Agreed about Hill. He is beyond confused. He looks so lost on the court. He and Bolomboy are two giant teddy bears in the post. Like little girls afraid to get dirty.
