This kind of result would be a great way to start the season tonight. I wish I could find a video clip of Jimmy D for 3 and the win, especially of watching (again) the Spectrum go silent. LET'S GO WEBER!

"...USU lost twice to Weber on buzzer-beaters in Aggie "home" games - 81-79 in overtime in the Delta Center in 1995 and 87-86 the last time they played in Logan. That was Dec. 7, 1993, in Eustachy's second official game as USU coach. The Wildcats came from 20 points down to win 87-86 on a Jimmy DeGraffenried 40-footer. ..."

Nice find Tal, here is another one that we can all appreciate.

The more I look into USU's team this year, the more I like our chances. I think we will be able to get some outside shots. Hopefully they drop. If Joel can stay out of foul trouble we will be in great shape. Yes it is the spectrum and no we don't usually win there. But in the words of Oldrunners favorite band Styx....

Tonight's the night we'll make history

Love Lillard, but we need Golden=Bam tonight.

I watched the CIT Championship game again last night. That was a special set of players, many of which were a part of last season too. As much as I liked Wheels, he did not look very good. It's so tough to replace on the floor what Mook, Berry, and Tres gave us. I hope Joel plays out of his mind tonight and throughout the season. I really see Johnson-Coston as a key piece that could really make or break a special season. Maybe he doesn't have the potential I like to think he does but I can envision him making a huge difference on both ends of the floor if he figures it out and emerges. Hill must have a break out year too for this team to have special season. Just Do It, WEBER!

Nice taste, Olds, Styx is one of the best bands ever! "our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime; we'll take the best, forget the rest, and some day we'll find....these are the best of times!"

Quite a bubble in Logan. Thread on Aggie board states Collette will be the best player on the floor, Moore the most gifted, and somebody called jojo the most athletic.

I will take up booze tonight if we don't pull this off.

Section S for us.

I saw that Ski...definitely leaves me scratching my head. Yes, JoJo is a talented athlete, Collette is a good player, and Jalen is gifted, but the fact of the matter is, the Aggie poster who said that doesn't really understand the game of basketball or hasn't taken the time to scout our team. Collette isn't on the same level as Wesley, Wilkinson, or Pinegar. He is going to be good, but I'd rather have Davis than Collette right now. JoJo hasn't done anything to prove that he belongs and Jalen is out of position. The best player on the floor should be and hopefully will be Bolomboy...

Everything else being equal which it obviously is not, which team would you think generally is benefitted from having this matchup the first game of the season? I hate this game being first on the schedule. It seems to me that Weber tradionally takes more time coming out of the gate to get up to speed than USU but it may just be my pessimistic perception too. Either way, "I believe that we will win!"

Even when we are down with a lot of unknowns, there are a lot of Aggie fans with Aggie blue colored glasses on. I hope I am wrong but I definitely can see a Weber win tonight, with my Aggie colored glasses I see the Aggies slipping by with a score around 71-69. Bolomboy will be he best player on the floor, even with my Aggie glasses I can see that. That being said I think Collete will hang in there in the scoring category but will probably get pounded on the boards. So with the difference on the boards, the Aggies will have to get some easy points on breaks and shoot a good percentage from the 3 to get the win. Excited for Bball to start. I hope you all travel safely up to Logan and good luck the rest of the season.

Thanks for the welcome! I have this game at about 50/50 chance of winning. Hopefully the spectrum will be at least 3/4 full and help give us a push. I don't remember much from the game last year other than Bolomboy being a beast. Can you tell me more about Senglin and any other players to watch for?

It's short notice and days after you asked but Senglin is another special player. His freshmen stat's were very similar to Lillard's so he has loads of potential, but we will see if he has the work ethic of Dame too:
http://www.bigskyfans.com/wildcats/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4443&p=39615&hilit=senglin+stats#p39615
Damian Lillard: 11.5 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.1 SPG, 43.4 FG%, 37.4 3PT%, 84.1 FT%, 29.4 MPG, 1.3 AST/TO
Jeremy Senglin: 11.6 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 2.2 APG, 0.8 SPG, 46.4 FG%, 40.3 3PT%, 78.1 FT%, 29.5 MPG, 1.4 AST/TO

Another player to watch is Gittens, he is a athlete x 10. He is a lefty so that gives opponents fits, he is quick and can get into the lane which results in some spectacular dunks. He like Senglin can get out of control a bit but they are sure fun to watch.

Baring a major 2nd half choke, this is well worth the trip! Weber looks pretty good but they also look young and somewhat inexperienced. If USU wasn't throwing up crap from the outside it would be a much closer game.

Well this is Weber after all. No halftime lead is safe at the spectrum. :wall:

Major second half choke puts it mildly here. :x

Did I really just witness a 22 to 2 run on us? We are better than this, unacceptable!
Practice all next week should be dedicated to the zone!

:ohno: Another lost opportunity! Figured first half lead too good to be true & hold for entire game...major fade out down the stretch by the Wildcats...or should it be Wildkittens. Too bad. :ohno:
