Utah Utes Thursday Night

So, the victory was nice. But has anyone noticed that we are now finishing games??? We used to get sloppy, careless, perhaps a bit selfish when we'd get a big lead. Now we are playing better defense, using better shot selection and passing better in the second half! We actually turned a 20 point lead into a 29 point lead! That is important because the time will come when we need to preserve a 5 point lead... hold off a run with a 10 point lead or perhaps come from behind! I don't know what Rahe said to this team after the BYU game but it is working! That is what I am happy to see! Again, this game was nice but it is the future I care about!

The only silver lining about having Bull and Mook out is that our bench is getting more minutes. In just a few games, you can see them maturing and they can go in and close out games, rather than go in and give up runs when WSU is up by 20 or so. Weber State's depth is really starting to show. Also, I heard The Signpost's photographer saying when he was shooting in Utah's huddle, he heard Larry Krystkowiak yell, "Does anybody here have the balls to get in front of Lillard?" Hahaha. Classic.. :thumb:

Here's what I don't understand...with the team that the Mutes have this year...what the hell is there to be elitist and snobby about? :hide:

The ute fans behind us were sarcastically happy that the ute kid beat the weber kid in the power-aid relay course. so I guess they can hang their hat on that accomplishment.

I was sitting behind the kid who won the Powerade Relay. He was not a Ute fan. He was a Weber State fan. He just happened to be wearing a red shirt. so much for their only accomplishment.

Back at Work!!

I'll admit it...I wasn't the classiest fan last Thursday. I kept yelling for Rahe to run up the score. I wanted a 40 or 50 point win. But a 29 point blow out is a perfect way to send the pUkes on their way. I hope Rahe and Co. never play in SLC, unless, some type of arrangement is made that ensures a return trip to Ogden for the mUtes.

Dont worry tal, you werent the only onw wishing for a 50 point win, when we were up by 29 and running out the clock at the end I yelled for Weber to shoot again and run up the score, I dont usually do that, but I wanted Utah to go down in flames after ending two long rivalries.

this is the end of our 3rd oldest rivalry.

1. montana, montana state, idaho state, 1962
2. nau 1970
3. utah state 1971
4. utah 1973
5. byu 1974

technically only 1 and 2 we have played every single year. byu, usu and utah we have all missed like once during the series.

Are there no highlights for this game? I have looked but cannot find any

I haven't checked yet, but maybe Altitude has some. If not, maybe it is because Altitude has the rights of the game that we haven't seen any yet. I'd like to see some.
