UW Dawg Pound Prediction

Dozy;
You are pretty influential to at least one key Eagle player so when you say the Huskies probably will win it has to hang in the back of his mind.
Kids need to hear you can win and probably will win if all of the players believe that they will win.
Attitude it everything!
After 20 years or so, I've got a pretty good idea how to motivate a certain Eagle player! He's a "tell me it can't be done and watch me do it" kind of guy. He's had a chip on his shoulder for a long time. Trust me, we talk about how it can be done.

Realistically, I think it's like 96% of these matchups are won by the FBS schools. There's a reason for that. But... if any team is capable of an upset its EWU. We all saw what they were capable of last year. Also, if any team is ripe for an upset its UW. That makes for a good combo.

I'll be rooting my a$$ off for the Eagles in September. I want to see UW embarrassed! Then, I'd like to see the Huskies win out... UW 11-1?? How awesome would that be with their only loss to EWU?!

I think it's less than that... it's around 90% FBS win 10% FCS upset

You're right, Screamin Eagle. Just checked and found just a hair better. The Wall Street Journals says 89% FBS win 11% FCS upset. Here's the link. Pretty interesting read...

Still, my original point was that it doesn't happen very often but it DOES happen...

True, but an 11% win rate is monumentally better than a 5% win rate. :thumb:

It's really a shame that we weren't one of them in 2008 against CU... with only two upsets that year, we could've gotten some good recognition.

2008 .977 85-2 28.9

Wow you guys need to read up on UW if you think A) we are a one man team (Polk), and B) that we have a small D-line that your O-line can push around. Both assumptions couldn't be further from the truth.
Wow, you need to get off your UW elitist high-horse and admit there's truth to both A and B. Polk IS your offense (reference last year's Apple Cup and bowl game even when you had Locker). Yeah, the UW has a good reciever in Jermaine Kearse but can your new QB get him the ball? Yet to be seen... You lost another good RB for the season, likely your #2, and you lost your best answer for FB forever to reoccuring concussions. ASJ at TE has yet to play his first snap in college.

The Husky D-line IS small. Ta'amu is a big boy (maybe too big) but that's where it stops. They don't have a DE over 245 lbs (Josh Shirley is 225 soaking wet, although he scares me a little with his speed). They just lost another DT to injury for his career. The Huskies have the same problem as they had last year and that's that they have a small D-line. Our line won't be pushed around. They just need to contain the rush and UW's speed.

Be prepared when you come on here Dawg Boy. A lot of us are hardcore Husky fans, too. I'm a premium member at Dawgman.com and love reading the smack in the Hardcore Forum about the beat down the Dawgs are gonna put on the Eagles. Keep that talk going and hopefully the Husky players will buy into it as well. I loved a thread I saw the other day about how FCS schools need to quit sacrificing their players to injury for a payout. Give me a break. EWU's players are just as strong and big. The difference between FCS and FBS is speed/quickness and depth, not size/strength. Yeah, I'm guessing that the UW wins. Pretty good odds that they will. But.... An EWU win?? As they say in Angels in the Outfield, "It could happen..."

Just FYI on the D Ends, Holt said yesterday that Jamora has had a great offseason in the conditioning program and is now over 250 pounds without losing his speed. The ends may not be enormous, but they are all athletic.
