VA out 3 to 6 weeks with broken foot

SHIIIIIIIOOOOOUUUUUUUTTTT!!!
Hope it is three instead of 6!
Go team West!

On another note does this eliminate him and move Cooper up to the front of the Payton award?

Damnit, I knew it wasn't cramps. Feel horrible for the young man and wish him a speedy recovery. Maybe he can make it back towards the playoffs. Until then, we'll be just fine with Jordan West. From what I have seen, he is talented.

+1, this sucks for Vern but at the same time I know Jordan will take care of business and VA will be back doing his thing before we know it. you got this Jordan!

they said he sprained his foot in the first half...meaning he played second half w/ a broken foot...what a stud!

Wow, what a warrior. I thought maybe it was just bad cramps but I had no idea. Tough break for not only VA but the entire team. With VA I would have said we're probably favored in our remaining games, but we'll have to see how Jordan West will do. Time for the D to step it up now more than ever.

Silver linings: our schedule is much more favorable for the next 3-6 weeks, with not a single offense that compares to the strength of UW, MSU, or ISU's. Also, this increases the likelihood that VA doesn't leave early for the NFL by 1000%. :|

My initial thoughts were "well there goes the season", but I am confident that West can lead the offense. When was the last time EWU had a bad QB, even a bad backup? I can't remember one either. Baldwin and Hill develop QB's; it's what they do.

Peerboom?

I agree with Seattle Eagle, coach Baldwin, West, the receivers and the O line will get it done. Maybe this setback will motivate the D to step up their game, I'm confident it will. Go Eags. :thumb:

Conjured up a magic football and helmet for West to use...it cost me my soul but it's worth it!

Prayers going out to VA. The little we have seen of West has been impressive and I know he will be ready.

West is the third best QB in the BSC. VA is #1, Prokup is #2. We'll be just fine on offense. :thumb:

I don't know about you guys, but I am really excited to see how West performs. If we lose some conference games, all well. Stuff like that happens in the FCS sometimes. It will be great to see how EWU does against adversity.

That said, get well soon VA. You have records to break.

To quote coach Baldwin, "next man up" that happens to be a very capable Jordan West
We still have the same receiving corps, which is the most talented in the Big Sky and arguably the best in all of FCS. We still an experienced and deep offensive line. Losing Forte hurts but we do have depth at running back.
We'll be OK, at least until the Montana game, we just need everyone to step up and do their jobs like they never have before.
It is a team game.
