Vailas get some nuts.

How can you look at the overall win-loss records of the entire department without paying attention to the details?

For example, ISU's women's basketball program lost a good coach in Newlee, but he also took players and recruits with him when he left. Sobelewski won 12 games his first season, and he finished .500 last year. The team opened the season with a nice win Friday against a West Coast Conference team, and the leading scorer for ISU was a freshman. It seems to be going in the right direction.

Volleyball has to be considered a success story at this point. The previous coach went 6-23 during his last season. Tingey hired Teichert, kept most of the same players from that 6 win team, and they steadily improved (10-20 in 2008, 13-15 in 2009, and currently have a guaranteed winning season record of 17-11).

Do we really expect to have winning seasons immediately after a failed coaching regime leaves?

It's great to see the women's b-ball and volleyball teams doing pretty well and turning things around. Unfortunately, the real revenue sports (football and men's basketball) aren't and haven't.

No doubt! For most things that matter to an athletic department.... alignment, monetary, recognition etc. men's basketball and football are all that matters. However, these are the programs that are most hampered by expectations from the AD. O'Brien was quoted recently about expectations about bringing in money in "buy" games. If Tingey is worth his salt he will work on the 2 FBS games a year and the number of "buy" games for men's basketball.

Seriously??? Handcuffing Tingey is EXACTLY what should happen. Sure Z hasn't done anything to help the situation here but hiring daddy's little boy to be AD when he has ZERO qualifications for the job other than the proper family lineage is what is going to continue to prevent ISU from having an athletic department that isn't a complete laughing stock.

Maybe your criticisms are warranted, however the nepotism card is WEAK. Exactly where has Tingey screwed the pooch?

How about the ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT? Maybe he could spend some time trying to put winning programs together instead of padding the pockets of the university. If you are so in love with Tingey why don't YOU explain what he has done to improve the ATHLETICS at the school?? And don't bother with all the things that were in the works prior to Tingey taking over.

Not so much a Tingey lover yet; just not a hater. So much for padding the pockets--he just spent 100K to make a change.

I guess that means parking at Holt will be $10 next year.

Washington State is on tap next year and Air Force the following year. I think ISU will be forced to play two per season, but at least three every two seasons.

Everyone except Montana plays money games, and even they do once in a while. To be honest, I'm tired of hearing Zamberlin whine about those games like no one else plays them. Do your job and you don't have to worry about it. What you have to do is win all your other games. As for ten dollar parking, everyone charges if they have parking. ISU has excellent parking areas, some schools don't have good parking, you end up walking to the games. I have visited every school except Eastern Washington, every school has good points, every school has bad points. ISU for the most part is on an even plain with all but a couple of schools, in some cases we have better facilities, some we are not as nice.
