well, alot of things are happeing and football season isn't over yet

The BSC is going to be tough next year, despite both UM and MSU losing there coaches, they will be tough, again. us on the other hand, if White can gather the system down in the off-season, he can be the best QB in the BSC, Ali needs to stay healthy and train hard, he had glimses of stardom but he still needs to work(of course he needs his grant first), the D flatout ted this season, despite the loss of key athletes, I expect the same next season

there are alot positives for the Vikings next year, we just need consistency

damn......we need the schedule to come out

I put it together using this information

http://www.goviks.com/release.asp?RELEASE_ID=2516

I have not heard yet about Ali's petition.

I like the McNeese State game. Wonder if this is part of a home/home deal with the front end being the 2004 game when they visited PGE Park...

I'm Hearing rumors that we may play Hawaii next year, that would suck, they opened a can of worms on everyone this year, Eastern Illinois got pounded and UH's starters only played 2 quarters

I'd rather play a washington or Oregon school

It would be nice to be able to pick and choose a 1A school of our liking but it doesn't work that way. Usually the AD searches out 1A schools that have or are looking to fill an opening. I would love to see us play a 1A west coast school that is in the continental US but if we are playing UH then so be it. We beat them once before who says we can't do again??

Also When scheduling a 1A team its generally never about playing a team that we could possibly beat. We were fortunate to be able to Play UNM this yr. But after beating them this yr you can bet that we will not get a chance to play a team that had a loosing season the yr before. It will hurt there strength of schedule to much if they are trying to make a bowl game.

I we are going to play a 1A school It would be great to see us play a top 25 ranked school. We may loose but playing against a top notch callibar team only helps bring our level of play up. If we want to make a run at a national championship you need to play at that level, and playing teams who play at that level only helps us get there. To me one loss to a 1A program is exceptable but more than that make it really difficult when it comes down to selection time like it did this yr for us.

I really like the looks of the schedule provided above if that is that actual schedule. I only see two garaunteed wins from that schedule and if home home field advantage works for us then we are looking at having at least 6 W's. However it is going to tough in the BSC next yr because there were alot of young teams last yr and they should mature by next season!

Teams I think that should mature well by next season:

**SAC state - Good thing we play them at home

**Weber state - Good thing we are playing them at home

**EWU - Even though they had a really rough year I think they should have put a team together that can place in top 5 of the BSC

**ISU should be better than this yr and we struggle against them @ Holt Arena

The two Non-Conference teams are great teams to play and will be tough to beat. McNeese made it to the playoffs this season and lost in the first round. UC Davis is a part of a very tough Great West Conf. it a good thing we have them at home, remember they slaughtered MSU at MSU this season.

Montana is going to be the team to beat again next year and of which we play them at Washington-Grizzlie stadium which very few win at. (If we are looking to make a run for the playoffs next yr I'm traveling to that game for sure!!)

Even though MSU did pretty well this yr considering them loosing to Chadron State DII, and EWU I have a feeling that they will not be as good as they were this yr due to coach leaving and having a troubled program. However I think they will not place lower than 4th in the BSC. That game should be a W for us!! (home field advantage)

The 2 for sure wins will be against UNC and NAU. UNC will do better than they did this yr but they better get their program under control because what happened this yr is cancer to a football team! NAU looses their play makers this season it will be a transition season for them with a lot of what if's.

I'm not sure how to feel about our season next yr because there are some tough shoes to fill on our defense which won us game this yr if we cant fill those shoes very well it will be another tough season for PSU! I think we will have a good offense next yr, it really come down to the OC and Coach Walsh abilities to become creative and explosive with a very talented offense. White or Howland will be by far better than Smith. Until spring recruitment is over is when I will start to predict how well we can do next season.

Thats my humble opion thus far, I would love to here all yours

GO VIKS!!!!!!!!!!

I personally don't want any games in which we would get blown out in, I that get the money and get out idea, I want to win

teams I think we can beat(that are I-A)
New Mexico(obviously)
San Deigo State
Utah State
Louisiana Tech
Wyoming
Washington
Washington State
Udaho
Stanford
Utah
Air Force
Colorado State
Nevada(they struggle in those gimmie games)

teams we would get blown out by(that we would play)
Oregon(maybe)
Oregon State(another maybe)
Boise State(a huge maybe)
Hawaii(50 PPG, don't even think about it)
BYU(they have a swagger to them, don't want to get involved)
California(no more losing QB's)
USC(doubt we would ever play them though)

I want to schedule smart, winning over money anyday

Sure you're right. Think it was supposed to be last year though until either the Cal or UO game came along.

I hope that if we play Wyoming, they don't stick the opposing fans way up high. We could see Canada from our seats at Autzen, and at 7700' in Wyoming, that's going to be like climing a mountain. ;-)

With McNeese State and UC Davis, we have a pretty tough OOC schedule even without playing any D1-A teams. I have a feeling that PSU will turn down the teams that have a smaller take for us and try to get the most bang for the buck (er, make that buck for the bang) with the D1-A game. It will be about the financial gain for us. Sad, but true.

If, for some odd reason, we don't really need the financial gain for the Athletic Department, I say schedule another D1-AA team and get a lock for a win. That will help our shot at the playoffs.

I want to see us play a WAC team. I don't care which one, as I think we can beat any of them, even Boise State or Fresno State. Fresno State had an off year this year, they are always tough and I expect them to come back with a vengence next year.

Scheduling Oregon or Oregon State gives us in-state exposure, but it will be a blow out and I don't feel that is good exposure. All it does is cement in people's minds that PSU is not that good, and that it wouldn't be worth coming to a game. If we played BSU or FSU close, even if we lose, it could get some fan's attention. I also don't want to see us play a Pac-10 school, even if its a big payday.

We took the money last year and sacrificed a playoff run. I think our team will be as good as last year, and I don't want $$$ over playoffs. PSU NEEDS to get into the playoffs, for fan support, increasing game attendance, exposure, and for Tim Walsh's job.

On a side note, McNeese State got into the playoffs only because of the auto bid from their conference. Their record was barely above .500. I don't think we will have that tough a time playing against them, except that it is the first game and at their place. UC Davis beat Montana State when MSU didn't know its butt from a hole in the ground. The MSU team that went to the playoffs was a completely different team. UC Davis is usually pretty good, but last year they didn't perform as usual.

I'm not suprised yet. They usually do not release the following seasons football schedule out until at least March. I can imagine that they are still trying to secure a couple of games.

most likely, I know McNeese is pretty much a lock, our california friends(UC Davis and Cal Poly) have been mentioned and are likely, and the beavers name has been raised again

I'm hoping for some MWC schools
