Visits [Aug 2011]

Well...its coming down to Weber and USU for Kyndahl Hill. I hate to break it Hill, and it depends on what he wants to play in college, but USU, from what i can tell, could only use him as a 4. In that offense, that is the only place Hill can be used. Whereas, at Weber, he would automatically be a 3, and he would get time as a freshman. From what I saw, it looks like Hill wants to play the 3. He was shooting a lot of outside shoots and spent most of his time guarding guys who could play the 3 on our rosters. Anyway, this isnt' an easy decision for him, I wish him the best. If Stew is looking for another 4 that is proof that Bair isn't that great.

Tyler Ott will be visiting this month. He's also visiting UC Davis, SUU, and Pepperdine.

Ott signed with UC Davis:

Huh? Why? I understand that that is an excellent academic institution, but he is leaving on a mission next year. Are they assuring him that he will have a scholie as a red-shirt fresh? But will he when he gets back? No matter, I wish Ott the best. Good luck to him.

I'm thinking Weber is done. The Cats can get an early jump on the other schools now. Next years class will have to be pretty special Weber will be replacing Lill and Bam.

You don't really replace a D'Lill. However, the young guards we have in the program now will do quite well. Any one of our guards could be a star anywhere else and will be stars for us as they progress. The real beauty of where our program sits is that we don't have to take on any projects. We can be a bit more picky. In years past, we would have been going hard after the Ott kid. This year, we offered him a walk on spot. I know that I have said it before, but this staff has put us in a stronger position every year they have been here. It just keeps getting better.

Hill links (commit) for those who haven't seen:

Impressive how much the program has improved under Rahe. I'm hoping that the fans really turn out this year and support the Cats. There is no reason why the Dee shouldn't average, at least, 8K every game. We have a relatively nice OOC schedule, and the Sky has improved immensely (I believe, due to Weber's improvements) over the past few seasons. I'm thinking that the Sky could have six teams in the top 175 this year (Weber, Montana, Montana State, Portland State, Eastern, and NAU; UNCO may be rebuilding, but will still be very competitive).

With the additions of Bolomboy and Hill Weber is making that next step from being a good program to becoming an elite program. I really think that Bolomboy has more upside than Loveridge. He is rough right now, but I think under coach Rahe's stewardship he will become an elite player. It'll be fun to watch those two battle each other in upcoming seasons. Both Bolomboy and HIll have a lot of raw talent and both have the potential of becoming major players. Someone said that Hill looks like Al Hamilton, Oh buddy!! He does have that look and potential!
