The opening line on 5dimes has the Viks favored by 1 and a half points

I have us winning this game. Good guys 35, bad guys 24.

I also have a good feeling about the Idaho game. However, I had a good feeling about the Idaho State game.

Good enough to actually go to the game? :|

I don't think so. The very few times I've watched the Vikings out there the experience has been disappointing.

Natteringnaybob is confusing good feelings with gas. Lay off the hot sauce. I still don't see the attraction to posting on this forum. Doesn't go to games, negative all the time and become a joke. Guess needs something to do while waiting at streetcar stops.

At least I am rational.

Rational? Now that's funny.

Being a WOU fan on a PSU board is being rational? I call that insane.

So, I have to choose? I can't be a WOU fan and a PSU fan? Does that mean I should quit contributing to the Viking athletic fund? Does it also mean I should quit purchasing tickets to Viking basketball and volleyball? I believe you have a very high school sense of being a fan. A sense that I think is silly.

I guess I want to know why are you contributing to a program, then, that you feel so negative about. You seem to have more loyalty to WOU. It is your choice of course to support financially any school and any program you wish. I just think that you would be a bit more positive about the program that you have a monetary interest in.

I know this may be hard for you to understand, but the Viking athletic fund is not for just one program. It is for the Department. The Department includes 12 programs other than football. My wife and I enjoy M/W Basketball as well as Volleyball. We buy tickets and go to games because we enjoy the experience. Those programs are growing in stature and in attendance in this community. Football is declining in stature and in attendance in this community. As to stature, we have been relegated from our long time downtown home to a suburban venue miles from campus. And, unlike every Big Sky, Mountain West, and PAC12 program, no radio station wishes to broadcast our games. As to attendance, the Barnum era has been one of continued erosion.

Beyond that I am disappointed Mr. Barnum was not dismissed for his inappropriate behavior with a female employee of the Department and that Skyler Fulton was hired with his history of gross behavior.

My wife and I no longer buy Football tickets and go to games because we don’t enjoy the atmosphere that Viking football offers. I am critical of the program because it offers little about which one can be positive. There is however one great positive; there is much room for improvement meaning much can be accomplished.

Tomorrow we play Idaho. I am hopeful for a win

Best defensive performance by a Portland State team in an long time! Idaho actually is a decent team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Just a great win for the program! Dean Crayon, Anthony Adams, Davis Koetter and Davis Alexander all had tremendous games, but the MVP of the game was the whole defensive unit. Go Viks!!!

Great win.

Idaho did help us out with some drops and penalties, but the defense had a great performance and I was happy to see them get the shutout.

Some thoughts.

- I really thought our offensive line played a pretty good game. Seemed like we were constantly sitting at like second and four/five/six with good first down gains on the ground.

- Did Petrino get hurt or did dad have to bench his son?

- I thought Alexander had a pretty good game considering the pressure he was under. I heard someone nearby say “he sucks” after another ball was thrown low to the receiver. That person has obviously never tried to throw a football with accuracy in a full sprint.

- Dare I say that we had pretty good in game adjustments on offense yesterday? You could see the formations changing into plays were Idaho was going to give us with the empty backfield sets where we could hit the little 5-7 yard out routes.

- Anyone know if Gunt is going to be good to go next week?

- Back to the road. Lets hope we come out strong and don’t repeat the start of the Idaho State game.

Looks like it was a great second half and overall, a great performance by the defense. I felt bad to miss it but yesterday I was at Ashland watching my alma mater (Rocky Mountain College) get beat by Southern Oregon. Great Viks win on homecoming and on the heals of the big fundraiser at TopGolf. We have now outscored our opponents at Hillsboro, 205-47 this year. Conference road games are difficult so we can't look past Northern Colorado next week.

Petrino was benched. He was replaced by a 270 lb. QB named, Colton Richardson, who did fairly well on his first series (culmination was a missed FG). Richardson didn't do much after that. I don't know about Gunt, but always feel better when he is on the field!

Lots of missing in the DB: Lesch, Howell, Brown, Gunt. Are we getting anyone back?

Not sure what Lesch’s injury is, but he’s been completely off the depth chart the last couple of weeks so that makes me think he’s not coming back anytime soon and possibly done for the year.

Steffen Jacobsen did play yesterday for the first time after being injured to start the season
