We need to Udoka-ize our efforts.

o I believe PSU finds itself in a conference with whom it can barely relate to anyone else's experience with the exception of that of Sac State.
o I believe Portland supports only winners and will come out for a show of talent.
o I believe things are too "fieldy" green and white at PGE Park, that there needs to have a splash of bright color to make things more exciting to the visual senses.
o I believe there is a ho-hum feeling out on the field because we lack bright colors to off-set the green and white (field colors) and there is little in the way of organic, grassroots support for the team which translates itself into healthy fan expression: there is a constipation of the emotions; there is a lack of emotional fitness and legitimacy because we are not yet where we need to be. We are still in a developmental league. As such, we need to Udoka-ize our efforts.
o I believe an invitation from and acceptance to the WAC will solve a lot of our problems and will turn on the spigot of our collective emotions. A stronger feeling of legitimacy will then naturally follow as well. We will then feel more like our true selves as we come in to the company of more accurate set of fellows. Our progress as a university has been artificially thwarted since the 1950s. We have not been allowed to grow naturally, according to natural market forces. Rather, we were treated politically as the feet of a Chinese woman suffering from having them bound.

How about we win a conference championship before we think about moving up to the WAC. Besides we don't have enough money nor do we have good enough facilaties or fan base.

Win games -> win championships -> attract fanbase -> make money -> build better facilities -> win more games -> advance to WAC -> win WAC -> win bowls -> win NCAA Championship -> make ridiculous amounts of money.

Easy.

I thnk building facilities must come a little earlier in the process, but I agree with your general thought process. We need to make ourselves attractive to the WAC before they'll just extend an invitation.

The WAC right now is a 4 man show lead by Hawaii and Boise State, UH, BSU, UNR, and FSU are the only respectable teams, with SJSU and NMSU on the outside looking in. Utah State believe it or not actually has nice facilities, unlike Idaho, who has no business in that conference. As of now Idaho is spending millions of dollars to upgrade their stadium.....to 20K lol

Right now we need to prove we can continue to get better. The WAC needs 1 more team to have 10, you know they want one more team, but they don't want another team that will just become another bottom dweller, they are looking for a contender, a sleeper. We need to upgrade our facilities and prove we can win consistently. This will take time but if Idaho can be in the WAC so can we. But we must step on the launchpad soon. UC-Davis isn't going to wait for us, we don't want that spot to be taken.

I believe its 2012 before another FCS school can move up correct?

Then lets hope we are a different team and university by then. Anything is possible folks.

How is Idaho going to get away with not meeting the requirements for attendance? I seem to recall that it's currently 17k per game, but their seating expansion only has state funding at this point (I think). I guess they could always play over at Martin Stadium, but it seems like it's going to be a while until they even have the facilities to meet the requirements. I guess their 16.5k plus SRO may get them by...

The limit is 15K. Utah State is not making that requirement but Idaho is, but in order for Idaho to do so they have to sell out every game until their renovation is over.

I thought the 15k requirement was going to increase this next season. No?

I believe Idaho works out deals like playing WSU in Pullman or Seattle but calling it an Idaho home game and counting those tickets in their home attendance numbers. I seem to recall a couple of other schools using this loophole in the NCAA system.
