Weber State @ Sac State - Sat, Sep 20

Well since Hilliard is not playing this weekend I will go with a 21-28 Hornets win!!! I think just like last week when I called a big game out of Croxdale you will see more of the same. I would have gone with a 35-21 win but without the three prong attack of running backs I took off one TD, I do think that Croxdale will have another 100+ game. At the summer practices I was not sold on Croxdale but watching him run on Saturday I have to eat crow, he had great moves that left the defence flat footed and the power to bowl linebackers over.
I hope they work on the DB's this week at practice, they are going to get a workout this week. The weak link's seem to be the DB's and the play in the red zone, we need to punch it in when we get in the zone.

It was mentioned in the Bee that Jason Smith may not play again this week. So he and Hilliard will be both out again? Bummer.

I like Croxdale too, he is a shifty runner. We need more screen passes to these guys (Croxdale, Wilkens).

Dang it! With Smith and Hilliard out, I think it's going to be an offensive struggle for the Hornets. I still like our chances though, MBT, Wilkins, and Croxdale played well last Saturday.

The only thing the article in today's fishwrap said is that Smith might not play again (it didn't say it but probably eluded to a game-time decision). There was nothing about not having Hilliard play against WSU.

I am thinking of ball control, ground and pound with Wilkins and Croxdale. Control the ball and keep their passing offense off the field.

I agree with Winghunter, I really liked Croxdale this last week too, waht a gamer. Looks like he's been faring pretty well for an "overweight, scout team tackling dummy", as some other have characterized him (and you know who you are). Just don't let anyone from the "Indian Nation" hear you dissing Croxdale, I hear they're a crazy bunch of football freaks.

Give Croxdale and Wilkins 30 carries each.

Hornets 30
Weber State 17

I know who I am. Thus, far I"m very impressed with Croxdale (even though his only action has come against a DII and an NAIA school). I'll be reserving judgement until I see him get carries against DI competition.

I'm not afraid of "Indian Nation". I give my football opinion and knowing Jake, would tell him this to his face.

Speaking of Indian Nation, pretty interesting to see the graduates of 2007 and 2008 getting sauced in the parking lot before the Humbolt game. They're lucky they didn't get MIPs.

Easy there turbo.... I would refrain from such slanderous and liable comments until your 3rd year of law school. In all seriousness, you can feel and state your opinion on a myriad of issues but would be very careful diving into that kind of arena. I am not agreeing or denying your aforementioned accusations, simply trying to pass on some wisdom.

Wing,

The truth is a defense to slander/libel. I observed the consumption taking place and could smell the booze on them when I spoke to them inside the game. I didn't call anyone by name.

I suspect FickyFack may be one of these gentlemen and I was making a point that "Indian Nation" wasn't going to intimidate me out of my own opinion.

I agree a good defense is ONE approach. As a younger man I also shared your Utopian views, all they way until the real police officer gave me a piece of paper asking me to speak with a judge. You sound alot like I was in my younger days. Some of life's lessons are best learned first hand I assume, rock on brother and I hope they don't "Taze" you while delivering the paperwork.

you know how this goes...I heard from a friend of a friend of a friend to Jason Smith that his ankle is more serious than previous thought, and that he could be out quite a bit longer than anticipated--at least another month...he's apparently going to another doctor to find out....

Thoughts if true?

MBT is very capable of doing the job...that said, either he needs to be able to read blitz packages better or the OL needs to do a better job at protection. Im sure the DB's got a good lesson this week in practice on how to turn around and find the ball.

Kadeezy

My lighthearted comment on the Indian Nation was not intended to intimidate you and your opinion. Sorry if I raised your hackles, tenderfoot. I just know that they are an impassioned group of football fans, albeit tipsy. You make them out to be a group of Hells Angels on security detail at Altamont.
And no, I was not one of those gentlemen getting sauced in the parking lot, I wish I was. I live out of state and follow the Hornets online, and through friends and relatives in Napa.

And gee-golly Wally, who's ever heard of people drinking in a parking lot before a football game (even under age!) - call out the brigade!

Let me know when you plan to tell Jake to his face that he's an "overweight practice team tackling dummy", I'll fly in to see that. And what I still don't get is that if you know Jake so well, you know where he lives (BTW, he doesn't live on BVR anymore), you've coached/played with him in Napa - well, kinda smells like sour grapes to me (no Napa pun intended).

Go Hornets!

Hey guys...lets keep the personal attacks out of here. This is a fair warning. Use your PM's if you have an issue with other members. Im still working on finding the old rules of the board...just a reminder, It's Not What You Say, It's How You Say It. If there is an issue, please PM me or GCM.

Remember we are Hornet fans here. Don't try and bring in different high school factions or groups pitting Hornet fans against one another. We need all that strength to focus on the ucd people!

Thanks.

Wow Wee! Lets talk about the silver lining. Tailgating on campus. Drinking with college aged students (hotties) and be a middle aged man, what a dream. The Hells Angels showing up getting rowdy. The Injuns sending up smoke signals and going on the war path. How frickin awsome is this and what more would you want? If the Hornets can keep winning, I'll think we'll be able to legitimately call these events D1 football. Keep having fun and spread the word, we've all got it good.

Shazamm Batman... Hornet Homer is a guy who gets it and does not take himself or the events of a Saturday afternoon too seriously!!!! I understand the passion and the support of the team, I think some must also keep in mind that just because they post more than others that fact alone does not make their opinion correct or carry more weight than the next.

I remember my days at college and I can assure you that I would never be caught dead drinking before a sporting event, most of my time was spent in the library reading or at the hospital candy striping.

I propose that on Saturday afternoon at 1:05 pm we all meet in the center of the parking lot for a group hug!!!! My only rule is that Kadeezy does not touch my bottom, after my little stint in prison I am still a little weird about that

Ok, this thread is about the game tomorrow. If we can't stay on topic, I will take those posts not talking about the game and make another thread. That or just lock this one. A reminder, we are here because we are Hornet fans.

Just make sure we get as many of your friends and family as possible to be out there at 2:05 tomorrow. The weather is going to be a lot better temperature wise...I want to see at least 10K in the stands. Very important game for the program.

No need to be hall monitored. Even though we all want the same thing (a Hornet Win), that doesn't mean we all have to agree with every opinion of every armchair quarterback fan that posts on this thread.

Better it happen here online rather than in the stadium parking lot with a bunch of Hells Angels and Napa teenagers.

Go Hornets!
