Weber State @ San Diego State Aug 31

I know it is still way too early, but I am really excited for this game. Booked the flight and hotel, just waiting for tickets to go on sale July 22nd.

I think this is a winnable or at least a competitive game against an FBS opponent. We need the offense to be improved over last season and the defense needs to reload and be comparable to last year's defense.

Anyone else planning on making the trip? Has anyone taken the green line train to Qualcomm from downtown San Diego?

Might make this a road trip. Flights too pricey and I'm always up for a good roady, especially when it involves Vegas and San Diego. Never taken the train to Qualcomm, or whatever they're calling it now. Have ridden it from Old Town to Padres stadium. Their train system seems to work well.

I also have some hope that Weber can steal this one. Haven't looked at SDSU much but they were mediocre last season in a mediocre conference. Sac St even gave them a game, leading going into the 4th Quarter.

Hotels in San Diego are pricey that weekend, if you stay north or inland a bit it is probably more affordable.

I really hope SDSU is looking past Weber to the UCLA game the following week. Last season Sac State was ahead until SDSU scored two TDs with four minutes left in the game. If we play well, this one may be ripe for an FCS win.

Apparently there is a big fireworks show after the game.

The KGB SkyShow is the largest fireworks show in the area and attracts one of the largest crowds of the season every year. Last year more than 45,750 fans showed up to watch SDSU beat Sacramento State, 28-14.

Sounds like there'll be a big crowd there. Anyone know if we can purchase tickets through Weber St?

Weber will have a block of seats. Per agreement with SDSU, they cannot sell them prior to July 22.

Just booked flights. Surprisingly found some pretty cheap. There'll be four of us going. Can't wait!

Flights weren't bad. Hotels were pricey. A Weber State win will be worth every penny. See you there!

Been planning all year to make it out for this since it’s the closest game to Phx but something came up. I’ll just have to wait for the home playoff game 8-)

Tickets are now on sale from SDSU. Anyone checked with Weber to see if we can buy tickets through them, or what section is the visitor's section?

I checked with the ticket office and the Wildcat club today.

Section P1 and P61 are the visitors section. Weber State has still not received their allotment, but should have them available soon. I believe the price they quoted was $35 each.

I didn't want to wait and bought section F6 50 yard line seats on the visiting team side for $28 each on the second hand market. Field level is actually cheaper than Portal level due to the sightlines being lower.

Thanks. Good to know about the portal level.

The ticket office just called. They now have tickets available for this game.

Got my tickets and excited about this game. They are predicting a sellout crowd and will have a fireworks show after the game. On top of that, San Diego is a great place to visit. I hope to see hundreds of my closest friends there.

I believe there will be an alumni association gathering pregame near the stadium. I will post details when I get them.

SDSU was picked 2nd in the West division of the MWC. They have all-conference picks at RB, C/G, LB and Safety.

How are you all feeling about this game? I think this is going to be won in the trenches. If we can run the ball effectively on offense and put pressure on the QB on defense, we have a reasonable chance of stealing this one.

Hoping Weber can own time of possession and keep the defense fresh. When we have struggled in games it is usually because we gave up short fields or have too many three and outs.
