Weber State

No use in dwelling on what we are. Weber State is coming to town this weekend. Lillard U boast a strong, underrated quarterback in Cantwell, and a fine stable of receivers for him to throw to. As always, the Wildcats defense is one of the best in the conference. The Wildcats won't care that we are 0-fer, they will still come and compete against us like we are undefeated. They are gunning for the playoffs. They won't want to stub their paw. It won't be easy, but we can get this game for the seniors, by playing inspired, intelligent, disciplined football. We pretty much have nothing to lose now.

No one could ever accuse you of being a pessimist. :thumb:

Having seen Weber play once in person this year IMO the strength of their defense is their front seven. With that said if PSU can give their QB time to throw I believe the Vikings can throw the ball against Weber.

Weber State has come and gone and what does that mean for the Viking football program? Well, under the illustrious leadership of Bruce Barnum our program established a new record! Never before in the history of PSU football have the Vikings had a 0 and 10 season. Congratulations coach! :thumb:

Under the "illustrious leadership" of Barnum has the Vikings beat 2 FBS programs in the same season for the first time. Under his "illustrious leadership" have the Vikings hosted a DI playoff game. And under his "illustrious leadership", PSU became the first FCS team to beat an FBS team by 59 points. :thumb:

Two seasons ago! Since then he is 3 and 18 and going into next week he has lost 12 in a row.

I didn’t really expect to beat Weber State, but I do expect us to not have to sit through one of the worst halves of football in memory.

We actually looked good in the initial minutes of the game (stopped Weber’s first drive, moved the ball on our first two drives (hell of a catch down the sideline by Adams)), but then we just imploded. 90 kick return (I don’t even think that guy was touched) given up. Missed field goal (34 yarders should be pretty much automatic at this point in the season), a shanked 18 yard punt, and terrible tackling. 49-3 Ugh. I had to leave at the half, as I just couldn’t watch any more of it. Sounded like more of the same in the second, as I see we had an illegal block on the kickoff, and then fumbled away our first drive.
