Final Post Game Wrap up:
Positives:
New Tight end transfer out of San Jose State 87# for WSU is the real deal!
Punter 47# monster punting job. Hitting 50 and 60 yard punts into a 30 mph wind
Offensive line, just keeps getting better every year, outstanding across the board.
Running backs 26 and 13 picking up on the positive from last year
Play calling from the box was was a bit improved from LY. Even innovative at times and refreshing
New pre-game and travel gear from a adidas a major step up from last year.
New Maverick stadium was incredible
Costa Vida concessions was a nice touch
USU fans the nicest people but very late arriving
Negatives:
Clarks first hitch and go long pass was the worst Duck I have seen since the Canadian Migration
Clark proved again that he has not learned to read a defense and just continues to stare receivers down until the clear out which is always the kiss of death.
5 Dropped passes and counting, Yes 5! At this rate we will end up having more drops for the season than LY
Dropped pass by 26 on a perfect throw by Clark in the end zone
Dropped or Fumble what ever you want to call it by 6# on the 25 going. Major Momentum Killer
NO YACS!. Cam 1# is WSU Wideout burner and he is averaging 4 yards a catch, Now that is a deep threat.
Defense had way to many injuries and starters not playing so I will make no comments but containment was pathetic
WEBER STATE FAN BASE-PATHETIC!! less than an hour drive for the season opener and besides the Band of WSU it was basically no show. Coach Hill's wife with cancer was able to show up at least some fans could show up.
Half time adjustments by the coaching staff of WSU--NONE-This is the difference between good and great coaching staffs.
Strangest weather for a game I have ever been to. Heat, Sun, Clouds, Wind, Rain you name it
Yes the negatives are bigger than the positives. WSU could of made it a one TD game going into half time but the same mistakes of dropped passes and absolutely no deep threat from last year continue to haunt them.
This old timer is packing up the Winnebago and headed to South Dakota.
