Week 13: Causeway....

Sankey isn't playing this week. He doesn't have full movement back in his leg. Keep in mind, Mcl tears take 24-6 weeks or more to recover from. Robbie Kendall broke his foot on the second kickoff vs Psu. We will be without our 2 best defensive players. The offense is going to have to put up 40 again to win.

I had heard it was a possible Lisfranc injury, but either way tough loss for a good player. Hoping he recovers and gets healthy for his pro day, he might be able to latch on as a practice player or special teams guy with his speed. Besides Kendell and Sankey we also lost Mazza for the season the week before. Sellers did a fine job filling in, and the rest of the DL played well. I am hoping the game is as exciting as it was 2 years ago...but hopefully going our way this time :)

Come on guys. Don't be so sad. Your record will be better than ours. You just won't win the game that matters. Given recent history though maybe the game doesn't really matter anymore.

I have a feeling the Walter Payton Finalist will have a day, He is on fire. The Aggies have improved. But have a feeling this is a different Hornets Team.

I watched about half of the dungpile/Poly game after getting home from our game. Good win for the dungpilers, they handled the TO well but Poly looked really flat. Poor tackling, receivers left totally open, they just looked out of position and way slower on defense than their previous games. When Poly got behind they just didn't have the firepower to get back into it. The dungpile has seemed to have discovered a little spark on offense the past couple of weeks but they don't have anywhere near the weapons and talent we do. If we play up to our potential we will win this.

Hornets 42
Dungpile 28

Like the

42 Sac State
28 Davis

prediction.

Another Causeway at Davis with rain predicted. may the turnovers bounce our way.

Put on the offensive gas Sac State and never let up from start to finish.
A chance at 7 wins is a lot of motivation and relevance for this 2014 talented team.

Go hornets!!!

Fantastic win for the Hornets! While not what we all hoped, this season was somewhat a success considering all the turmoil and last minute coaching/admin changes.

So proud of DeAndre Carter! One of the best WR's to ever come through the program. I just wished they'd got him 1 more reception on either of the last 2 possessions. Would have been nice for his last catch to be #100 for the season?

To me it is bittersweet but Sears really kept this team together and if this was an outside hire and a coaches first year we would be fired up for the future. These hornets did not ever quick

Just home from the game back here in the Bay Area after my first trip to Aggie Stadium.

The Hornets looked great in the UC Davis nice digs.

The sun came out just as the game started and .it was shining bright on Sac State all game and as the sun set the seniors ran to the north endzone to claim the Causeway Classic trophy, 5 years after the Mattos March. So good to see the trophy back on J Street. And great to see the Hornets celebrating a Causeway Classic victory with loud Hornet fans , marching band and cheer team to end this season and send the seniors off with a win and an off season of feeling good. And great that people in northern California got a chance to see the Hornets on TV and see the exciting brand of football this team played all year. And to see how this team really was everything you want in a team in terms of supporting each other and being team first in their approach...

Three victories to end the season ...7-5 overall.
So many other things to say but for now...

Congratulations to the Hornets for winning a very exciting and classic Causeway and for a winning season.

Go Sac State!!!

Great win for the Hornets! This team did a good job of not quitting and came back winning the last 3 games like they should have. Saffron to Carter and Agude was a great combo this year. Nice to see Sankey get in the last few minutes of the game too. The program took a good step toward the future today.

I think aggiemba helped that bighorn sheep escape from the LA zoo...
