WEEK 3--SAC STATE

Its not about breaks or luck, its about talent and execution! No one is on the ledge, what for, no surprises for me so far, SOS just another season. Fesi not Clark is the one who called a pass play on 3rd and 12 with less than 8 minutes left in game when the Wildcats were up 21 points which turned into an interception which change the whole completion of the game and cost the Wildcats the game against USD. Fesi made the call the, Fesi is accountable.

Fesi Sitake
Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

We know we have an outstanding offensive line. NO QUESTION! They are a tremendous group! Thank you Coach Myers. Please don't ever leave Ogden! They move the line on running plays and very seldom give up any Sacks on passing plays! Coach Myers does it with average talent and superior coaches skills. So Fesi has been at WSU going on his third year and was over the receivers his first two years. We all agree that the QB play has been weak but it was weak the last few years and we all blamed Coach Clarke for that but he is gone to YBU. What has coach Fesi done and why are we not calling him out and holding him accountable for the offense? The receivers last season had almost 50 dropped passes, without much in YACS. Most position coaches would get fired for performances like that but not at WSU, they promote him? WSU already has 10 drop passes in 2 games this year. With little to no YACS this year except for one broken play. So Fesi's three starters at WR that he has developed and personally selected over the past 3 years is 1#Cam, 3#Denby and 6#Drew. All of them started every game last season and every game this season and what have they done..nothing...no deep threat, no YACS, no blocking, lots of drops...are they getting any better? Not that the stats are showing me! Last season they put 89# Ross Stripling in for one game against NAU and lit it up for 3 catches and 58 yards and a tug to the house and after that we never saw him again and he hasn't seen the field yet this season? Ross is 6'4 not 5'8 like Denby, that must be the problem. No Ross is not hurt, he is perfectly healthy. I guess because the three blind mice are doing so well they can't afford to bring in anyone else in because 6# Drew & 1#Cam are averaging 4.0 and 6.5 yards per catch as our wideouts, wow? These are Fesi's fruits of his Masterwork? Smells rotten to me. Something has to change! Fesi isn't concerned though, he's leaving after the season to go coach with his cousin the head coach at YBU. Maybe he can help Detmer out.
So is your kid, friend. random person of interest or former high school teammate a disgruntled WR who sits the bench at WSU?
I will cut Fesi some slack since he has only been calling the plays for 2 games now. But the QB has been making the same dumb assed decisions for 4 years now.

Either way, game day is almost here.
Strap it up and kick the crap outta Jody and his Hornets

Fully agree, WSU should beat SACK STATE with their run game alone. This is one of the weakest teams they will play all season.
Lots of drama at practice from the coaches this week. Coaches are starting to feel the pressure. Looks like they are going bag all that they worked on in the off season and go back to their old stuff to to try to get 4 or 5 wins this year to try to salvage their jobs.
Not sure how good WSU's RBs and OL are, but Fresno tried that last week and got nothing until our defense ran out of gas in the 4th. Our secondary is weak and really can't cover anyone. That is the weak spot on our defense.

your right, the coaches are all amazing and doing a great job, there's nothing to worry about and it is all Clarks fault. We play a cream puff team this week and will get the win easily and everyone in the Wildcat nation on the message board will be talking playoffs and how it is going to turn into a 8 win season for the cats. Remember the subject on this message board is not basketball it's football

my buddy's kid is on the offensive line! I didn't think there was a need to talk about the QB's. Looks like the QB position is set in cement no matter what happens, God forbid we have a QB race at WSU several D1 schools rotating QB's at this time, I want to see the Cheeseburger from Snow College. RB's, our best one is hurt so no need to talk on that subject so all that is left is WR's dropping balls. Everyone is just convinced that the defense is just banged up so no need to talk about that either even thought they gave up 100 points in the last two games. Want to talk about the kicker not much else left?

Jeez, sensitive much? If you think its frustrating being a fan for a few years, wait until you have been following this program for 30+

No harm, no foul and no offense taken. Just good message board opinions and call outs. Trying to get this message board to be real instead of just rah rah crap that I have been listening to for years.
but at least you have the 22 basketball conference championships. WSU has to be the only college besides Gonzaga that has more postings under basketball than football, and I don't think that will be changing soon.
Basketball season is just around the corner.....see you at the dome.

I don't post on basketball much, but I'm a Weber fan, so I love me some basketball!! #23 is just around the corner too. Nothing like watching a game at the Dee.

But NCAA is right. Coaching has definitely been suspect this season. We all have to give Jay some space though. Having to watch your wife, best friend, and the mother of your children struggle with health definitely isn't easy and he has been making the most of it. Lets give him the benefit of the doubt. He needs more from his assistant coaches.

I don't understand why Brent Myers isn't the OC, but then again, and I don't know this, but I'm pretty sure he is the #2 guy anyway. I was really hoping that Jay would try to bring in someone else for OC if not Myers. Sitake got the opportunity. So be it. 8 years ago, I didn't think this, but I do now, Swan should have been given the chance. After Hill and Myers, he is probably our best coach.

I like Kaufusi at the DC, but he has definitely struggled so far. However, there have been a lot of injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Losing depth really hurts us, especially when we have played two teams that run an up tempo offense (maybe we should try that more often, keep teams off balanced). We should have most of our starters back this week, but we are really hurting in regards to our backups and that affects depth and energy levels. One positive, some of our younger guys are getting lots of mins and great experience. I'm glad that Weber gets to play Sac and UC Davis the next two weeks going into the BYE. Helps Weber get a bit more healthy before facing the more difficult part of the schedule.

Wow, just read SACK St board, their fans make our message board look like a candy store. Sack State fans are talking that this years team is the worst they have seen in 30 years and that the coaching is even worse so this should be a very easy win for the Wildcats. Really they put Trevon Johnson on the interview network with Nunez this week. This is the guy that has been getting run over on the outside as our Outside linebacker two games straight. Defense has only given up 1000 yards and 100 points in two games and the Senior linebacker is going to tell us that we are just a few injuries away from having a great defense....

Hill said running back Eric Wilkes, linebacker Emmett Tela, defensive tackle Likio Pope, linebacker Alema Key and tight end Raphael Longangu are expected to sit out this week with injuries. After suffering another of many concussions throughout his career, safety Mitch Tulane has decided to hang up the cleats permanently, he announced in an Instagram post last week.

It's tough to understand why Weber has struggled so much with injury, especially right out of the gate. Maybe it's more common than I realize but they sure seemed to have come out of camp in a bad way and then seemed to have someone laying on the ground every few plays in Logan.

That's too bad with Mitch, he's been a very productive player and a fan favorite (at least this fan.)

A few injuries is no big deal yes having 8# hurts but he is one guy on defense. This is a much different defense than last year. Devante (NOW IN THE NFL) could lock down 1/3 of the field and we could fill the box with and extra body or two, we don't have that this year. Also we lost coach HALL which was a major lost, he was a tremendous coach and the defensive secondary played at a whole different level than they are this year. So lets stop making excuses for this defense, they need to have some players step up like 23# who Coach hill has been talking about forever.....

Who the Frick is Miller and why isn't someone like the returner 3# Denby telling him to clear???
Denby was the returner nine straight games last year and did nothing. In fact the coaches pulled him after the 9th game because he was letting to many balls drop in front of him and roll another 20 yards because he was afraid to field the punts and they yanked him, what has changed???? After they yanked him last year, two players had longer returns in two games than Denby had all season, not very smart special teams coaches, oh course how many games are we going to watch Hintze miss field goals, we are now three games in a row!

1st half, Offensive line doing an incredible job, Clarke has enough time to eat a sack lunch that is why he is 9 for 12 in the first half. Maybe the best half of his career. Not much points to show for it.
#6 drew, Act like you have been in the end zone. No one touches him no one around him and he loses the ball before the goal line. 3 years of the same stuff from this guy.
Defense is holding its own, though be it against the 2nd string QB. First time this season that the opposing team got into the red zone the the defense held them. Yes first time in 3 games. Coaches make easy adjustments at half time Weber wins big against the cellar of the big sky.
