Week 5: Sac State @ Idaho State

Hornets are bringing guys on the end on every play. About freaking time. Hornets are punishing Yost now, he just took a huge hit. Defense forces a punt.

ISU lost Rouser for the rest of the game. Huge loss on the DL for them.

Just keep running the ball. Drive inexplicable stalls when the Hornets go to the pass. Shocker.

Defense looking a lot better. ISU forced to punt.

TD Hornets. Thank God. Safron finds a WR (#15) wide open on a naked bootleg. 34-23 late 3rd qtr.
 
Defense forces another punt, and Norrise gets a great punt return...that is called back on a hold. :x
Scratch that, penalty on ISU for an extra 15 yards. Hornet ball on the ISU 21.

Fvck. Vince Weaver went down and it doesn't look good. We are thin at OL. :|

Another drive stalls. Hornets settle for a FG. 37-23 early 4th. Sad that this team can't punch it in when it is gifted the ball at the ISU 21. Just sad.

INT Cowger!!! HUGE. NOW GET A TD OFFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!
 
3rd and 1 is stuffed. This is unbearable. False start takes the Hornets out of FG range. Hornets kick it anyways and make it. Huge FG, the game is now a 3 possession game. 40-23 11:23 left.

This Hornet offense just can't get it done when it matters most. Need to deliver the game ending score and it just can't do it.

INT Odiase. Hornet ball at the ISU 25.

We're "pounding" 'em now; keep the Defensive pressure up tho. Good one Kadeezy; I was trying to remember that statement. Where is that guy anyway?
 
Lots of things to improve on...but overall...much better game than the last two outings. Good adjustments and balance...mistakes all seem to be correctable with reps and not because of lack of talent of effort...so
I'm happy and look forward to the second half of the season...as well as the future.
 
Not over yet, ISU is driving.

TD ISU with just under 5 minutes left. 2 pt conversion is good. 47-31. Hornets need to recover the onside and get a couple of 1st downs to kill this thing. ISU kicks it deep.

Hornets to punt with 3:30 left. Amazingly there is still plenty of time for ISU to come back.
Hornets opt for the prevent here. 3 straight drops by ISU, they gave up.

Well another ugly one with a lot of mistakes. Great adjustments by the defense at half. Hornets dialed up the pressure and completely knocked Yost and the ISU passing attack off their groove. The offense was pretty sloppy all game. Safron still struggled with accuracy and the Hornets never really threw the ball over the middle. Too many penalties and lackluster OL play but the offense was still able to get it done.

BTW Ellis took one all the way to add a cherry on top. 54-31 2:49 left.
