When Does Rahe Get a Quality OOC Win?

I have never asked or questioned that Rahe get replaced. I'm only asking for him to figure out his team at the beginning of the season. Many teams go undefeated in OOC games, we seem so win a couple here and there on the road. I'm asking that he find a way to beat the in-state teams... Find a method or two for in game adjustments. When will Rahe hire an assistant coach that is taller than 5'5"??! Hiring a post coach would be huge. I can't figure out how Rahe relates/teaches our bigs when he has no experience at that position. I would love to win more than 16% of instate games too.. The question has to be asked, how many more season does Rahe get until we have decided we need to move on (including Bovee)? 20 wins seasons are great, but if you don't make it to the dance, it's all for not. I guess Tal is content winning 20 big sky games a year and choking in the BSCc tourney. If that's enough for you, all the power to you. We as fans deserve to get to the dance more often than once a decade and regularly beating in-state teams. Now don't go saying how much better off we are than having Cravens or Farmer crap. If Rahe doesn't make a run in the NCAA, then this season is another bust. At some point, new levels need to be reached with or without Rahe. :twocents:

I also don't understand why fans and Rahe are okay with losing OOC games to supposedly help in conference play. Winning OOC games helps in conference time more than losing. I'm never okay with losing any game.

Shooters need to shoot it, scorers need to score it, passers need to pass it, etc, etc... When shooters pass up an open shot or scorers pass up a chance to drive they are hurting the team. The real trick is being able to recognize the opportunities and take full advantage when you can. Berry is passing up shots he should take. He is trying to be a great team mate, and he is, but he needs to be a little more selfish when he has the chance to score, and pass when they have taken his shot away. Trez and Joel need to catch the balls thrown to them and either do something with it right away or look to pass it back out to our shooters. They hesitate way too much, and then don't pass when it is indicated. It looks to me like the only one trying to lead, out on the court, is Jeremie, and he is just a freshman. It's no wonder that we are struggling. I just hope that we can make the adjustments and show the growth needed by the BSC tournament. :coffee:

By the way, James was dressed and warming up with the team Sunday night. He didn't play, but seemed to be running well. I'm thinking that he may play this week end. :thumb: :thumb:

So what you are saying is that you want Bovee to replace a coach with an almost a .650 winning percentage so that we can win an instate game? Yeah, I'm really grateful Bovee is our AD and you aren't.

Actually, the standard for collegiate basketball success is to win 20 games, and yes, to me that is pretty awesome. We all wanted more from the football team too, now look at where we are after Mac was, uh, asked to retire. Keep wishing What you all want. I'm very happy with our recent success and know it'll continue under Rahe. Yes, once again for the idiot impaired weberski and pforlife, I am extremely disappointed in our current team and their efforts and was expecting more. W'SUFAN you expect too much. This isn't the 1970s anymore. We are where we are. Be happy with our current success and hope for more. Beating BYU and USU is a huge achievement these are their best years, ours are coming.

Looks like Tal is okay to never beat in-state teams. Feel free to walk around with your Yankee hat on around the state. I take pride and want to take more pride in wearing my weber gear around. Why am I being ridiculed for wanting success? Why can't I hope or desire for weber to have success like the 1970s Tal? As a fan, I hate losing!! Period....Rahe might be the only coach in WSU history to never beat BYU.. People like Tal are okay losing to in-state teams. I for one am not. Is asking for more OOC wins a hate crime? I bleed purple through and through.. I like 20 wins too, but why can't one of those wins be against in state teams? Again, I'm not asking for Rahe to be fired, only to improve this team.

Good job Tal you just bested your dumbest post of the year of a few weeks ago :ohno: just in time for the New Year.

+1

I agree with Tal. The last 2 years in conference we are 18-2 and 14-2 with instate wins both years. Rahe has been absolutely killing it even though we haven't won at Montana. No one has! One stretch of losing basketball and people panic. To let him go would be the dumbest most arrogant move possible. Rahe recruits raw talent and develops that talent as the season goes on. Would you rather have a few experienced JUCO's instead of Senglin and Gittens? Let's all just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show for a little while. We will get better and this team is gonna be extremely fun to watch when we do.

Everything you listed is expected of Rahe. He should be dominating the Sky. He better be winning 20 games a year.

Salary- He is by far the highest paid coach in the conference, and by all accounts maybe more than twice as much as the next salary leader in what Tinkle pulls in, and as much as 3 & 4 times what Katz, and the bottom half of the conference coaches pull in.

Stadium- No one rivals ours. Huge recruiting advantage over the rest of the conference. Can you imagine a recruit visiting the Hornets nest, whatever PSU calls their gym, or Butler Hancock in Greeley.

Resources- Rahe has more resources at his disposal than any other school in the conference.

Attendance & Community support- More than double the attendance average of the next leader in Montana.

Geography- Huge recruiting advantage here as far as ease of travel and airport accessibility, with the exception of Sac, PSU, and UNC everywhere else is VERY Isolated, and a pain in the neck for recruits, players and their Families to travel to watch games, visits, etc. I flew home late a couple of weeks ago, and was picking up my luggage at the same time as ISU, they were coming home from playing Washington, and I thought to myself it must suck to spend half a day to fly home, and then have to drive 3 hours to get home. Evans looked hammered, they still had to wait for luggage and ride a bus to Pocateller.

I agree with that. With the addition of the basketball weight room right next to the indoor field we have by far the best basketball set up in the conference, and I can imagine it's better than usu's and could rival byu and Utah's basketball facilities. At least 1 instate win a year. Nothing less is acceptable

C'mon, expect a little more than that (if it includes SUU/UVU)! I think it's reasonable to want at least 1 win every 3 yrs. against USU, and geez!...I'd be thrilled if Coach Rahe's Wildcat team could beat a BYU team 1 in say every 10 yrs. (cutting some slack here, it gives him 2 more years...PLEASE!!). And I'd argue with anyone that this is NOT one of BYUs or USUs best years!!! Fans are perfectly justified in asking for more success of Coach Rahe vs. instate!
