Is that you SacRat in disguise? Not enough beers can't get the picture of him out of my mind.

I'm the best coach in the Big Sky hands down and have an EGO to boot. The picture was taken after my team being shell shocked in the UNLV game. Thanks for asking. Coach Butt

So coach,

If you chatted with baiz last week and that didn't work. Who are you going to chat with before the NAU game?

Currently, I see one coach handling both the DB and Special Olympic teams. In this conference, one coach should be dedicated to each position. When are we going to hire a dedicated DB and ST coach?

Also, what do you predict the attendance to be this weekend?

It's ok to have an ego, just back it up.

Green Cookie,

Biaz is on a short leash. I offer no excuses and neither should he. Needless to say he is in sperbutt doghouse. I've already taken away his Recuiting Coordinator role for lack of follow up. Coach Parker is in his 1st year and he shares DB's and ST responsiblites. I agree we need a dedicated ST coach and that may very well be Biaz's new job next year.

The attendance will probably be in 6k range. Hope this helps.

Next Q?

Coach

Congratulations on the win Saturday. What a roller coaster with the team looking the best they have this season, followed soon after looking the worst they have this season. They pulled it together and got the win . You must be happy and relieved to see the team playing better as a whole. The offensive line is kicking @ss, the defensive is looking much better and making plays, special teams looked better this week. Whatever you've been doing the last week or so, seems to be paying off. McCowen looked like he made a breakthrough with his playing Saturday, finding the holes in the line and making key plays. Hope you rest him a bit this week and let the trainers help him heal.

Would love to hear some of your thoughts about UNC.

Thank you newfan for the compliments.

Consistency is the name of the game. I'm glad the team played well as it gives me a win to pad my resume and get out of this god Damn Big Sky JC league. Northern Colo is much like us. Terrible record, poor coaching and fan support. I'm sorry but I'm pissed off. We should be competing to play in the Rose Bowl. Ok back to UNC. This is a very winable game on the road. It will come down to how tough our D plays and our Running game needs to be established. Just get through this game without injuries and healthy for Davis.

Terrible fan support coach?

Check the stats, Sac State has the third best attendance in the Big Sky. Just think what it would be if you could start winning consistently. And winning consistently will help your resume. You can't blame Sac for lack of financial support, facilities or fan support. All the onus is on you my man.

Green Monster,

The third best attendance in BS is not something to brag about. Attendance numbers accross the board are way down YoY. The only team that has a consistent respectable draw is Montana. Every one else is below 8k and lower. You can't put the whole blame on me, can you?
Listen the dream would be to become independent and schedule true D1 teams, play at Hughes Stad because of capacity while building momentum to build a 40k+ stadium.

The real question is why is there no support for the BS football????

We actually have pretty decent attendance. At least in comparison to FBS schools, anyway.

I just heard on Double XX Sports in San Diego today that SDSU pulled in a whopping 5300 for HOMECOMING.

Interest would also develop if Sactown sports radio talked about the huge win we just had. I can't stand anymore of Kozimor, the really annoying Grant Napier, and the rest of the talk about the big Kings win over Memphis. Give me a break! Especially when I heard Kozimor at Saturday's game because ol'Walk Gray was talking to him. There is no excuse not to talk about Sat's game, he was there. D@mn it Kozimor talk about Sat's game or I'll listen to more ESPN radio than I already do. I mean if they aren't going to talk about everything local, why have a more local sports talk.

Damn, I miss Don & Mike.

Coach Sperbutt say something funnier next time.

Super Hornet, I checked on this and SDSU had three home games and drew 42k, 22k and 13k. They play at Qualcomm.

Poor old Koz. He's lookin to get back into the NBA soooo bad. And he is actually better to listen to than Mr. Big Ego (Bigger Than mine) Grant Napier. Ok now for the funny part UNC coach will be fired at the end of the season and the Sac St. loss was the a big part of the why. Glanville will also probably quit. Is that sad or funny??? And whats up with the Maloof boys. Still single nearing age 50.

Sorry I left out the BYU game also at home which was 30k.

Yes they drew 42k for the SUU game. They have a massive fireworks show once a year after an Aztec game. That’s the only reason why they had so many people. SDSU drew 21k for the New Mexico State game, I don’t know how much they drew for BYU, and they got 12k for the New Mexico game. The fact is no one will care about SDSU until they start winning 7-8 games a year. Hoke has his work cut out for him as hardly any students go to the games and Chuck Long completely destroyed this program with an unwanted mid-western “3 yards and a cloud of dust” mentality. Back on the attendance issues, word is they heavily inflate their attendance numbers to avoid being put on the NCAA’s poor attendance list. Also playing at Qualcomm Stadium completely screws the Aztecs as they have to lease the stadium from the city for their games. That’s what happens when you have a school administration with poor planning and judgment. I have no sympathy for them as they have a large alumni base with deep pockets that constantly comes to their rescue.

Here is a take out of their school paper.

Coach, how you going to get 40K to a Sac State game when you can't draw more than 5K against the 21st ranked team? And only 6K to the 2nd ranked team?

BTW, Hughes will never be used again by the Hornets. Why suggest play there while Hornet stadium is built out. Sac's stadium is already as big or bigger than Hughes anyway.

Green Cookie Monster,

The 1st answer is quite simple. Get out of the Big Sky and go Independent. Nobody in this city cares about the oppostion even if we had a great record. Best case scenario 14k with UC Davis. It takes money to lure a BCS team into town to play and we simply have to PAY to PLAY. Imagine us playing CAL.

As for Hughes, this is the only FB stadium in the city with capacity. Hornet field is a temporary stadium.
Even the Big Sky officals have complained about it.

Hughes is a non-starter. It's in a horrible part of town, which will eliminate fans with young kids. Parking is atrocious there, which will eliminate a lot more.

While distance is an issue, we'd be better off moving games to Amos Alonzo Stagg Memorial Stadium while any work is being done on Anderson Field. We'd lose what few on-campus fans we have, but we could play up the "bigger stadium" theme. Especially if it was widely known to be a temporary measure with a FIRM drop-dead date.

I take a bit of offense to your comment that it is in a horrible part of town. I have lived within 3/4 mile of the stadium in Hollywood Park for 10 years, and Sac City College is bordered on the east by Curtis Park and the west by William Land Park. Sounds like a real tough part of town. I attended last year's Holy Bowl, which had around 15,000 people, and there were plenty of parents with children there. Additionally, they recently completed a parking structure directly adjacent to Hughes and the parking lot behind it is huge. When i attended the Holy Bowl, it did take a bit of time to get parked, but leaving the stadium was a piece of cake. I am sure it can handle the 6,000 a game we have been getting lately.

I am not saying that Hughes would be the answer, but I am asking that you get your facts straight before you start railing against it.

I agree, if Hornet Stadium is unavailable during upgrades, Hughes is the only option. I don't see why the upgrades on Hornet can't to be done in stages so it would still be useable during construction.
UOP's stadium apparently needs a lot of work, the CIF don't even want to have high school playoff games there.
If the Tigers don't restart their football program soon (which seems unlikely) Stagg Stadium will probally meet a bulldozer in the not too distant future.
