Who's coming to Portland?

I'll bet Eastern has three fans to every one for Portland State.

Weather will almost certainly be terrible, and it's about 50/50 whether martial law will be declared and the city will be under the protection of the national guard. Mobility in the downtown area is pretty much non-existent and hoards of rioters attack and destroy everything in sight. You definitely do not want to park cars on the street if east of 405.

Welcome to Beirut, circa 1985.

Wasn't it Bush 41 who referred to PDX as little Beirut?

The boy and I are coming down Thursday and will pick up 4 Eagles at PDX Friday. Your man bun and skinny pants militia stands no chance against the Spokanites.

I plan on driving down Friday morning.

Wife and I are driving on Friday and staying the weekend at the Courtyard downtown.
Any suggestions for Saturday things to do, besides honing our rioting skills? We've been to the zoo, park, and gardens last summer.

In all seriousness, where should people park?

Just stay on the stadium side of 405 (West, or further from the river). That area has been relatively quiet. It's more residential. You don't want to park near the actual PSU campus. It's very possible these people will start to calm down by Friday. The police are starting to crack down a little more. The first couple of nights, the police took a "hands-off" approach, but then the protests turned into a riot and some people got attacked and many cars were destroyed.

Doesn't say much for their cause and message. Destruction of another persons property is very small thinking. The times I've been to games there we took the train into the stadium. Good system. We're staying near the airport and taking the red line into town. I wonder how other train passengers will react to my "Make America Great Again" cap? :thumb:

agreed. I can understand being upset with a political outcome but when you go to the extent of damaging personal or private property that's bullshit.

Also I will be in Portland. Let's get a large and raucous crowd of Eagles in PDX! Bring your friends!

Sounds like quite the EWU contingent will be there. I wouldn't be opposed to meeting up for beers prior to kickoff. I know there's a lot of great breweries, pub, and brewpubs in PDX, what's the best location close to the stadium? Who's in?

I had everything lined up to go to this game. A sweet rental lined up for the game (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15345692?eluid=1&euid=eb48dca0-f8ef-17e1-98f7-8944594e1ce4) and a full itinerary with my wife. Got wrecked by medical bills. Canceled the reservation on Thursday (the last day to cancel).

Just today, I came across some hidden gem in my work health benefits that provided a ton of relief, but I had already canceled everything! I could have attended if I had found this gem sooner. :pissed:

All well.... MAYBE I can re-align the stars to make a trip to playoffs in Cheney! That would probably be a lot more fun than watching the PSU game.

As of today, the train isn't running through downtown. The rioters have shut the line down. It ends at the Rose Quarter and doesn't resume until Providence Park. You could only come in from the West. Again, my hope is that some level of civility will return over the course of the week. But with some of these Portland types, civility is non-existent.

My first time to Providence. (great name for the current situation, eh?) Driving down Friday afternoon, and back up I-5 a ways after the game. Are there no stadium parking lots or garages adjacent to the stadium? Would appreciate additional information or tips.

To All,
In case you not aware, the game will be on ROOTS Friday Night at the above time. I found this out on Friday night from one of our Players. He stated they will practice Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Team will be leaving on Thursday for Portland. I will watch on TV. To all traveling, Have a safe trip there and back to your locations. Watch out for the Demonstrators in the Portland Area if possible. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Enjoyed seeing our team came through on Saturday. The wind was nothing but trouble during the game. I froze my BUTT OFF, and was ready to go and sit in my truck and listen to the game on the radio. I had to stay and watch Cooper Kupp break another record. The Reception record of 396 Catches. This young man is in a class by himself. We are going to miss all of our Seniors. Saw when Jarrod Jones proposed to his lady, was great. Heard that #2-Jabari Wilson, RB, got broken Rib, hope when the final decision comes out it is just a something less, and not broken. I didn't get the attendance of this game, forgot to change the battery in my Earphones, so I had reception problems. ;) Not cheap, just forgetful:? Heard we are #2 in the nation, should have a few games at home on the Inferno. This will be great. Vic Wallace

There's no parking lot at the stadium. Your best bet will be to look for City Center parking garages. There's a couple around the stadium with a short walk.

There is a lot of shopping in the area, so there are underground garages nearby. There are also a couple of large lots just Southeast of the stadium. there is one really good secure lot right next to the stadium, but I can't remember the address. I'll be in that neighborhood on Wednesday, so I'll try to remember to check it out. There were a lot of Eagle fans parked there last time,,and it was only like $10 or thereabouts.

Vic, I read in the box score that official attendance was 9,302. Guess that makes 20 straight sell outs!
