Why? does LMU show up....

Why did Weber not get the home game against LMU? I have heard of a concert, but which concert was at the Dee? Was this really the reason?

I noticed that USU will be playing at home on SUNDAY afternoon so they can play at home. The WAC Gymnastics meet is at the Spectrum on Saturday. Why did Weber not play at home against LMU? We play that game at home and we win - that simple.

I think the Better question is why is a team that started the tournament at 17-15 still getting home games?

This tournament lost all credibility

I read on another thread that Stew Morrill said on a post game show that the CIT had promised him two homes games. SO he got his 2 home games and would have been in ogden yesterday had we won on sunday. That being said I believe that stew also said that LMU was also promised 2 homes games and so we get shipped out there. and no there was no concert saturday night.

So. How do we start getting these promises. Is it all, 'money under the table', or is it just personal favors? Who's butt do you have to kiss, or wallet do you have to stuff?

I'm sure that these decisions are not pulled out of thin air. And, It is obvious that they are not made on merit. What gives? :stir:

I didn't see the game nor listen to it. But the box score tells a typical Logan tale, LMU with 15 more FG attempts; LMU with 7 more FGs; LMU with 3 more 3PTs; despite playing ragged LMU with 3 less turnovers; LMU with 7 more steals. Obviously LMU outplayed USU, except, except USU with 25 more points from the FT line!

This is what you call a good ole Cache Valley Screw Job. We've seen them, plenty of teams have. Stew counts on the home-cooking, its why he won't leave his little hideout. Why he HAS to have a 2 home game guarantee -- we've all played with the little creep when we were young "If you don't play 2 games in Logan, I'll take my ball and go home." And read between the lines on this:

"Playing in this atmosphere isn't something that I would wish upon anyone of us, I hope if we play them again that it will be on a neutral floor," Loyola Marymount head coach Max Good said. "We could play it in Thailand; I would like to play them on our floor. This is a tough place to play and everyone knows that."

Translate "tough place to play and everyone know that" to "place where teams get jobbed and everyone knows that" and I think you have the story of this game. Nice work C -- IT your tournament is SH -- IT

I watched the feed and man, the home town announcers put the Aggies in a bad light. Comments like "he's from Back East" meaning that was why the assistant coach for LMU was arguing a call makes them look really out of touch. I thought both teams shot well below their typical, and LMU looked like they were lost, no synergy like they showed when they played the Cats. The crowd was not that big ( for normal USU standards) and the Sperctrum looked pretty empty, even the student sections, and this with students getting in free.

Oh well, woulda, shoulda, coulda, I still wish we were playing in Ogden and looking forward to the next game. November is too far off!

Not only has this tourney lost all credibility so has Stew Morrill.

a 17-15 team is going to host the whole thing, how many butts did Stew have to kiss for this to happen.

Any of the 4 teams that USU beat would have beaten them at home or even on a neutral court.

Sure hope USU enjoys winning a rigged tournament, whatever makes them happy I guess

25 more freethrows good hell

I'm still trying to figure out why the HELL Weber didn't get another home game. There wasn't anything scheduled at the Dee last Saturday. So, the promise to LMU must be true. USU and LMU were promised 2 home games each. TOTAL BS!!

As for LMU getting bent over by Curry and Co. Is that a surprise? Come on...how many times in the past has Weber been leading, out playing USU, only to get screwed over by the home town crooks/refs? When will the NCAA put a stop to this crap? Stew must have beer flavored nipples to get so many refs jacked up to cheat for him.

No too many are mad as this isn't a real tournament.

True - this tournament is not a real tournament and it is a joke. So, if USU wins this, did they really win anything (or did they buy it)?

But, I have learned something and changed my attitude about USU. I used to be a casual fan of USU. I always cheer for Weber first and then I wished USU well. I have not attended a game in Logan for years and rarely watch their games on TV, but I sort of cheered for them and wished them well.

Now, I have a contempt for USU and hope they crawl in a hole and die. I hope their program sucks forever. The didn't deserve to be in any post-season play this year. They certainly didn't deserve a home game, let alone 3 home games. Somehow Beef Stew bribed his way into having the home games which gave them a tremendous advantage in all three of their games. I don't think they beat Idaho and LMU on the road.
I now hope USU loses every game they play (except when they play yBu or Utah as I hate them just a little bit more). USU Sucks and I am glad Weber spanked them this year.

This is a zero sum game - any gain by our opponents is our loss (and vice versa).

OK. I was getting really excited about the beer flavored nipples, until you had to ruin it by putting them on Stew. :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :wtf:

Not really, just to see if you guys were talking about the CIT still. Sorry but every post in here screams of "butt-hurt"ness and makes you look like a whinier fan base than BYU (which is REALLY tough to do)

Seriously I'd sum it all up into 1 emoticon: :willybs:

Utah State being let in the tourney at 17-15 let alone hosting each game they play in over other teams that deserve them more can be summed up by 1 emoticon :willybs:

You just proved my point

Do you honestly believe that? Go look at the records of every team in the tournament this year, many are very similar and not much better than 17-15. Being over .500 is the pre-requisite, so I think we made that cut.

USU had the highest reg. season attendance of any of the teams in the CIT field, so it does make some sense despite your guys' whining.
