Will the Eags HOST the Big Sky Tourney....

As much as I hate to rely on Southern Utah, at least they have something to play for. They're trying to catch Weber St. for the 8th and final tourney birth. I'm sure Sac will probably take their best shot and I can see Southern Utah knocking them off. Would it be shocking? Yes. Impossible? No! If they somehow pull off the win we're back in business. I still think NAU is going to knock off Sac last game of the regular season. Stranger things have happened....

From the Rafters....
go eags!

Still got that "gut feeling"????? It might just be a stomach ache.....

so we are relying on montana and sac state to lose out? so encouraging!

From what it sounds like, we hold the tie breaker over Montana if we tie for first with UM and Sac loses two. We just need Sac to lose Thursday. If they don't we'll need to take them down in the tourney.

Mmmm, I don't think so. In that scenario, I believe NAU would hold the tie break over Sac (based on a better record against Eastern), giving NAU 3rd place and Sac 4th. UM holds the tie break if NAU finishes third.

In order for your post to be correct, I think Sac would need to lose two (including to NAU) and NAU would have to drop their remaining game.

You might be right on that. Not completely sure though. Haven't had time to dissect all of the scenarios. It stinks having to hope for other teams to help you out. We definitely had our chances and did not take advantage of them. Now it's all about winning the tourney regardless of where it is held. A lot of good teams in the Big Sky that could Dance.

Pretty sure its a VERY difficult road for us to host from here on out.

Griz have to lose to MSU and SAC needs to lose both of their games, we would also need to win out.

I'm pretty sure we lose tiebreakers to both UM and SAC due to their wins over NAU...

Actually hoping for Sac to win this thing, it would be a somewhat neutral setting giving us the best shot...

I am confident the EAGS will win the BSC tourney regardless of where it is played. I would like to see the EAGS play UM in the tourney.

"So you're telling me there's a chance?!" - Well, I've said all along that I think NAU will beat Sac on Saturday. Didn't really expect them to lose to S. Utah tonight but thought it could happen. Basically, we need MSU to beat UM and I think we host. That's easier said than done of course cause UM is a strong team, but MSU is a much improved team and they're playing at home in a rivalry game. I also believe a win at Weber is not going to be an easy task for the Eags. Things just got interesting.....

Agreed. Cats while not very good in terms of record have improved. And rivalry games can always be interesting. Hell, when the Griz were winning the conference with only 1 loss the game against the Cats still required a miracle 3 at the end of regulation to get to overtime. Everything just seems to go out the window when it comes to rivalry games.

As for Weber. They have LOADS of talent. The problem from what I've seen is that their talent really hasn't translated into good team play. It's weird to watch a Weber team with all that talent and Bolomboy in the middle struggle like they have. They still have the potential though to get their act together and do some damage in the Big Sky tournament... if they make it.

It should be a fun tournament to watch! Hoping I'll be watching it in the stands in Missoula :P

EWU will have their hands full on Saturday. I don't expect them to get a win at Weber. They have historically struggled there, and Weber is now rolling. I'm just hoping Sac State can get their sh*t together and win on Saturday. Playing the tourney in Sacramento is MUCH better than having to go to Missoula! We all know those Montana hicks have nothing better to do than watch UM sports. At least in Sacramento the venue and crowds will be more neutral and not as hostile.

Rafter, Eastern needs a win, and losses by both Sac and Montana to host.

But I agree with everything else in your post. And the tournament will be fascinating because it's clear that 4 or 5 teams have a chance to win it. Even Weber, if they get on a roll, watch out.

Or maybe they just enjoy watching consistent winners.

Yeah... I'm going to go with, have nothing better to do... FTG

Sure. Because Cheney is the hot-bed of activity. :ohno:

See you guys in Missoula next week.

Well unlike you, we actually graduate and move to normal cities. Not growing roots in a college town for life. Can't wait to hear your uneducated hick fans yelling more racially driven insults at our Euro players! Missoula is such a great place!

Yeah, I live in Seattle, so... Although that said, Missoula is a far better city than Seattle.

Yeah, that happens a lot, I'm certain. Missoula is so well known for its lack of inclusiveness.

I'm just glad I don't have to listen to all the "FU(K YOUs" being shouted by ewoo fans during another bsc broadcast. I'm surprised your administration hasn't done something to curb that, like move the mics away from your sophomoric students.

I as well live in Seattle. Your fans were yelling racial insults at 2 Euro EWU players. Both players came out and spoke about it, and stated its just something you deal with when playing in Montana.

The fact you think Missoula is a better city than Seattle, means we are done communicating. Have a good one dude, and forever, FK THE GRIZ.

If Eastern doesn't host, I actually hope Sac does. Nothing against the Griz, but if they host, that gym will be filled and it will definitely be a huge home court advantage. If Sac hosts in whatever that place is, it will probably be a better neutral court. Better chance for Eastern in Sac than Missoula, based on fan support alone...
