Wk5 Prediction Thread EWU 34 @ Montana State 17 WINNER!!

Montana State is going to give us a bad taste in our mouth on defense again.

But Eastern is going to put up plenty of points. I expect this to be 49-31 EWU

After watching a little more Montana State, I can't say if I think it's good we're catching them after Cal Poly or bad. The MSU offense certainly has some commonalities with Cal Poly, but it'll be a second straight week of playing against a bruising style of offense. The D will be tested. Over the last few years, most times the D gets tested it ends badly (maybe not a loss, but a lot of yards given up). We all should know a lot more about what Eastern's got after this one.

Not an ideal matchup right after playing CP, but I think the D has pretty good depth this year. LOTS of guys played in the CP game.

Does anyone know why Keenan Williams hasn’t been playing? Injury, dog house?

Same with Matt Meyer on offense. Was supposed to be one of our starting OG’s but hasn’t seen the field yet.

Interesting

Interesting indeed. Eags opened at -7, were -4.5 this afternoon, and are -3.5 at the moment. I wonder what makes those lines move as I wonder how much action these big sky games see. There was one interesting adjustment to the EWU O line 2 deep that may have moved the line a bit.

I got Eags to cover and I’m taking the over.
Eags: 41
Cats: 28

Many of the EWU/MSU games have been epic. Epic will happen once again with a come from behind 39-31 EWU victory.

*Bozeman is a great city to visit and Bobcat Stadium a great venue to watch a football game on a Sat. afternoon.

I saw that. Beau Byus at Left Tackle in place of Tristan Taylor. Losing your starting Left Tackle hurts. Not sure what happened to him...assuming injury.

Matt Meyer has been playing. He was on the field a good bit against Cal Poly. Keenan Williams must be hurt, although I haven't seen any news on it. I don't think he played at all last week, but Jim Townsend played pretty well.

No idea what happened to Tristan Taylor. Anyone know what's up there?

I know he’s probably a pretty athletic dude, but a 265 pound left tackle protecting the QB’s blind side doesn’t make me feel great. Why not move Matt Meyer out to left tackle? I dunno...I just work here.

Probably just means not enough people are putting money on Montana State. Sports books will often do that to try and balance things out.
