Meanwhile, Wyoming Cowgirls are nationally ranked and is 11-1. Only loss was at Colorado.

OFF-TOPIC!

You know me1 I like to brag when a Wyoming team actually WINS! /users/31/07/37/smiles/icon9.gif

Well now that you put it that way, I understand. There's not too much winning going on in Wyoming country these days.

Tough loss last night to USC, but I have to say that for the first time ever, I actually couldn't wait to hear the score of the women's game the way I usually hold my breath for the men's score. Go Viks!

Judging by the box score, they put the clamp on Kahle.
And even so, we almost pulled it off. Good game!

The women are now 3-0 in conference play and in first place. How does the Big Sky women's tournament work? Does the regular season champ get home court like on the men's side? If so, and if PSU wins, will the conference allow the Stott to host?

Unless the Sky has all of a sudden gone to a neutral court concept like the Big West, they'd almost HAVE to allow the Stott to host, no matter how bad it's perceived as being. Heck, Sac has hosted the VB tournament several times, and Sac's gym is on a par with UC Riverside's: it's MAYBE the level of a MIDDLE SCHOOL gym.

If they all of a sudden lifted hosting rights for a school that won it on that basis alone would be not only unprecedented but patently unfair.

The games would probably move to either the Memorial Coliseum or the Rose Garden, just like they did when the men won in 2005.

The women's tournament is scheduled Thursday March 13- Saturday March 15 at the regular season champion site.

The Rose Garden has professional bull riding on the 14th and the Blazers on the 15th.

The OSAA Dance & Drill state championships run Wednesday through Saturday at the MC. That starts at 5:30 pm every night.

I suspect the Big Sky won't think twice about holding the women's tournament at Stott. The men, for the 11th and 12th, should they actually catch fire, would probably have to play at the Garden (not MC).

Chiles Center? (Did anyone just throw up a little in their mouth?)

Way back in the day, BEFORE the Blazers, the Multnomah County Expo Center hosted an exhibition NBA game or two. The Oregon Convention Center was once slated to host an ABA team (3 or 4 years ago), though I'm not sure the OCC even knew about it before the plug was pulled... and the ABA exists only as a insipid joke anyway. I was going to say Salem Armory (which used to host the high level OSAA women's championships).

Well, would the Wood Technology Clinic & Show 2008 or the ACM - SIGCSE 2008 - Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education take up a big hall or two? That's at the OCC.

Vikings win again scoring 97 points. Good crowd but not capacity. This is a great Viking team. The chemistry is excellent.Last edited by on 2008-01-13, 01:00; edited 1 time in total

Wow. What a team!! I thought this would be a close game, with the Bengals having Natalie Doma, our great Canadian star. Not even close. It shows what I know. Keep it up, ladies. VikThunder is right, fntastic chemistry, and a great coach.
