Women's 2017-2018 season thread

What an absolute gem of a season. Big Sky Champions in the regular season and Big Sky tournament champions. I really hope the y get a decent seed so they don't have to play a #1 seed. I say maybe a #13 seed or so.

Awesome season for sure. First ever NCAA tournament. And sorely needed after last night's men's meltdown. Congrats to the Bears. Coach Etheridge has done a great job. CSU will be calling.

The strong non-conference schedule should help seeding. We beat conference winner Liberty, and won at Depaul who won the Big East conference and tournament. And losing at Quinnipiac looks reasonable considering they were 18-0 in conference and won their tournament.

It's all gravy from here on out. But it would be supercool to play UConn and knock the dynasty off.

Go Bears!

I don't think playing a #1 seed should be an issue. ESPN has the Bears as a #11 seed right now, so I guess they could end up playing a #2 in the second round if they get bumped up a line: http://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/bracketology

I have spent a lot of time in Louisville, KY for work over the past 6 months and they have a fantastic women's team. I watched them get slaughtered at UConn so I would prefer to avoid them at all cost. They are just on another planet. It also looks like they get to host the first two games, which I think is a bit unfair.

There it is, Bears in as a #10 seed playing Michigan. They would likely get Baylor if they beat the Wolverines: https://twitter.com/UNCBearsWBB/status/973344121237590017

What a great draw. Since the game is in Waco, if we can keep it close, the Baylor fans will surely be pulling for us. Can't wait to watch the Bears on ESPN2.

No. 7 Michigan vs. No. 10 UNC, 5 p.m., Friday.

That is a good draw. Maybe Michigan will gameplan for North Carolina.

The men and womens representatives of the Big Sky are both playing Michigan.

Where are CU and CSU? Were they not invited?

Great season by the Bears. Michigan really killed us with size and length. Wonder how the outcome changes if we have Courtney Smith in the post. Our backup big has no points and no rebounds. Michigan's 6'5 big went for 24 points and 5 offensive boards.

But this season was still a huge success. Scott goes out with a bang for 25.

And Smith and crew return next year with the experience. Go Bears!

I was really frustrated that the DirecTV TV guide had them showing the UNC game but they had the Notre Dame game instead. I listened to the first 1st quarter and that was it.
In the end, it was just a fantastic season. What's amazing is that only 2 of them were Seniors.

Same experience here. Seems like every year you tune in to watch a game that is competitive, but the network insists on showing the 1 seed clobbering a 16, in this case Notre Dame v CSUN.

That said, a 16 finally won last night. UMBC knocked out the overall 1 on the men's side, by 20! RIP all brackets everywhere.
