Dr. Wood definitely does not have a poker face. He wants to say something, anything. But it is not up to him.
There is a history at Sac State, and Sacramento in general of disappointment. I don't want to personally project that on Dr. Wood or Josh Wood who have their own history of getting big things accomplished.
Dr. Wood is excitable, ambitious with a lot of personality. It may turn some people off, but there is no denying that he has the needle moving.
The name of the game for these football programs and conferences is exposure. You have to capture eyeballs. As annoying as it is sometimes, Sac State is showing that they can garner endless attention nationally. Marion being another piece of that. That brings value to a conference. I don't believe we are being strung along as much as Dr. Wood is keeping Sacramento relevant while the bureaucracy occurs behind the scenes. Refuses to let their value slip.
Blue bloods like NDSU and Montana don't have to fight for relevance.
