WSU at Montana: Game Thread

WILDCAT said:
Selvig flops charge is called Cherry runs Bullinger over and goes to the free throw line, go figure.

CHRIS RASTATTER made the calls. He hates Rahe and Weber, he shouldn't be allowed to ref any WEBER games.

Somebody on this team needs to step up, we looked completely inept in the 2nd half, why cant anybody make a shot on this team?

we better get things straightened out, or like Montana just did, NAU will kick our trash up and down the court.

It was just like last year in the tourney, our bigs get hammered constantly and get no calls, there bigs flop and get every call, I saw so many over the backs on that big 7 footer today, just like he did last year, no calls.

And another thing, why is it every other teams weakness becomes thier strength when they play Weber?

Montana State had no inside game till they played Weber, and Montana who averages 60% at the free-throw line goes over 80% against Weber?

Wow. I really don't want to be a guy who comes on your board and kicks you when you're down, but really, blaming the officiating in a game in which you got dominated in every conceivable fashion, a game in which the closest you could get was 16 points in the final 8 minutes??

Wow.

Wow.

you should have won by 35 plus, with 3 starters at 50%-60%, and #1 out.
Get a clue Bonerboy.

Solid post!! You must be awfully proud.

Looks like there were 21 fouls whistled on Weber.

There were 20 called on Montana.

Montana shot 24 FTs. Weebs shot 21.

Yeah, you got homered, all right.

I'm beginning to truly despise the Montana road trip. Three years in a row that NAU has started out conference play up there with the exact same or close to similar results as the past 2 days. Ugh.

Gonna be hard for WSU or NAU to even contemplate hosting the tournament at this point. WSU and NAU are tied for last with Sac State at 0-2 in conference. How's that for a sobering thought.

But a bad day watching college basketball is better than a good day doing a lot of other things. Look forward to talking hoops this upcoming week.

As badly as I wish that to be true, MTJack, it's waaaaayyy to early for such a proclamation. You both lost road games in very difficult places to play, and UM and MSU still have to come to your gyms. Right now I think it's safe to say that Montana looks like the team to beat, but I wouldn't go any further than that.

cant blame a loss like this on any one guy. morris had 10 & 5 in 25 minutes and hit 4-5 ft's, 3 blocks, 0 turovers. you win and lose as a team. bull still tearin it up.

how are we doing on injuries right now?

i cant believe we are both 0-2. gonna suck for the loser of our game next week to go 0-3. i wish the game was at home...well, you guys have isu on thurs, so u can be 1-3 or 2-2.

Right now its looking like Bamforth might be missing some games. He got hurt right after the opening tip played through the pain as best he could, but had to sit virtually the entire second half. Rahe said they would get Bam evaluated as soon as they got back to Ogden. Seriously though, its looking like Bam might be out for a couple weeks at the least. I'm hoping I'm wrong and that he is ready to go next Sat. If Bam is out, Richardson will have to grow up fast. He did a pretty good job in the 2nd half. With time, he will get better and feel more comfortable leading the team. For Weber to be successful though, they need the two SR. to step it up. Hughey has got to be ready to play every game. He can't have games like today if Weber wants to contend for the championship. Yes, he isn't 100% right now either, so we all need to cut him some slack. Nonetheless, Weber's weight is squarely upon his shoulders. Its now his team.

To big reasons why UM beat the tar out of the Cats today: 1) Turnovers; I think UM had 15 points off of TO's and Weber had 2 and 2) Selvig...he had a great game. He was the reason behind the first half run that broke open a close game. Also, he did a good job limiting our bigs.

We had just 11 turnovers. Points in the paint though was 18 Weber and 28 Montana. Scott Bamforth played 17 minutes and Jordan Richardson played 28 minutes which I think is his career high. This might just be too many injuries to overcome for one season.

Who's blaming the refs?

Weber didnt lose because of the refs, they lost because they couldnt score any baskets, and they kept turning the ball over.

The only thing that pissed me off about the refs, was inside, that Quale had no fouls till almost the very end of the game and him and Selvig were over the backing our players all game long, no calls.

montana is always talkin trash when they beat us. egriz...lol. they were dead silent when we schooled them in football aka their sport.

Not nearly as quiet as the weeb fans are on eGriz right now!! Someone should put out an APB on those guys!!

Wow the Griz win thier first 2 conf games AT HOME and they are the greatest ever, guess what Montana State and UNC are all undefeated in conf to after 2 games and Idaho State won thier only conf game so far. I guess we should consider UNC as the best team as they won thier games on the road.

Get a clue Montana, you have a great team, but its easy for anyone to win thier first 2 games at home, you still have to win 8 road games, And Im willing to bet Montana MIGHT go 4-4 on the road.

lillard breaking his leg would be the only way for UM to have a chance this yr. 2011 is the 11th yr since UM's last big sky bball title.

So I guess the only reason you won a football game against the Griz for, like, the 2nd time in 3 generations was due to Selle's injury?

Seems to me you can't have it both ways.

And it also seems to me that UM has represented the BSC in the Tournament 4 times in the last 11 years (more than any other team in the conference), and has the only tourney win in that span. But there's no need to let facts get in the way, huh?

Hey everettgriz, you made your point, why are you posting all this on the Weber site? OK, Montana beat Weber on Friday, there, it's done. Move along.......
