WSU Basketball - Anthing & Everything

Coaches said that they would find out today if JP can play. He was going to prectice yesterday, and wait until today to see if he has any soreness in his knee at all. If he has any soreness at then, he will not play.

I'm going to assume that you were joking when you posted that Weber State would beat Utah State, Utah, and BYU-Provo next year. If you weren't joking, you haven't been paying much attention to what's been going on with college basketball in the state, who those 3 schools have signed, who they have returning, returning from missions, etc. Rahe's a good coach, and he has a good recruiting class, but you don't have the horses to compete with either USU, Utah, or BYU-Provo. All 3 of them will dominate you inside and out. The one game of the 4 that you will win is SUU. UVSC is always a mystery until the season starts because of how secretive Hunsaker is. I think you have a good shot at winning the Big Sky, but don't be disappointed if you don't because Rahe has a couple of guys sitting out to qualify next year, that, along with this year's recruiting class, should make you the heavy favorite in 08/09.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Your talent doesn't compare. The level of talent in the Big Sky has been going down constantly over the last few years as evidenced by the rpi rating of the Big Sky conference. Last year was Utah's weakest team in years and they still handled your Big Sky championship team with no problem. Last year was USU's weakest team since Morrill's first team almost 10 years ago, and they beat you twice handily. Once on a neutral court. Your team next year won't be as strong as this years, but Utah and USU will both be much, much better. No, I'm not being foolish. Foolish is looking at the players on the Weber roster compared to those on the rosters of BYU, Utah, and USU, and claiming that Weber is going to win all 3 games. Neither you, nor the original poster, have taken the time to even look at who Utah, BYU, or USU has on next year's roster.

Seldomseen should be embarrassed. His Aggies just got schooled by the "no talent" Weber. Oh and if the Big Sky is gettin so bad, why did 3rd place team in the Big Sky (UM) beatdown the WACK champion (Nev) in the NCAA 1st Rd 2 yrs ago?

Bring on the Utes! No more chatter...let the players settle this dispute on the court.

Seldomseensmith sounds alot like U of Wyoming Coach and the "guarantee" maybe they can share the crow together.

I guess he chose an apropriate name. He knew he would be seldomly seen on this forum cause he can't back up his big mouth!

So the CATS are tackling one of the best DII teams in the nation tonight. Cal San Bernadino presses the entire game... If we play our game they will realize quickly that the Press doesn't affect us... Still I hope Weber doesn't overlook this team in anticipation for the match-up with UCLA tomorrow night on ESPN. I was talking with Danny Johnson yesterday and he told me that the coaches had the players already watching film after the game on Saturday night. Rahe definitely wants a rematch of last March with Coach (Weber Alum) Howland. Go Cats!! Listen to the game on KLO 1430 at 6pm tonight.

Arturas Valeika wins this season first Big Sky player of the week honor. Surley this will be the first of many for this team this year. Valeika averaged 12.5 ponits, 13 rebounds in the first 2 games.

Cal-State Bakersfield is not playing great basketball right now. THey just got thier first win aginst Freson State, that is a good team, so maybe they are starting to come around. The person that is going to take the most shots is Terrence Johns. He has lead the tema in scoring in every game but one. He is a 6 foot three gaurd out of Chicago, that has "never seen a shot that he did not like". After Johns it is a well rounded team that has a lot of guys that can get 6 to 10 points. Thier shooting percentage has fallen every game, starting at 45% and now dipping down to 39%.

This will be a good game for the cats tonight. Big Valeika will have a good game. He will be the tallest man on the court for most of the night, and should be able to keep his double double streak alive. The Bigs in general will have a great game, and to me it all comes back to how will the gaurds play tonight, and will they be able to get the Off. going early. In the Win Aginst Utah State, Weber jumped out early, and got the offe. running smoothly. This will need to happen again tonight.

Coach Rahe will have this team ready to play ball, and I think that the Cat's will get a good W tonight.

WSU 70
CSUB 55

I really didn't know to much about CSUB, so i'm grateful for Fatwildcats information on them. I think Weber just needs to play dominant defense, and get a good game from the guards.

The Utes will be a good test for the Cats... I hope that the Dee will be rockin. Our team feeds off of the crowds enthusiasm. Get as many people as you can to be at the game next Wednesday.

Dudes... everybody needs to get their aces there. I agree about the team playing according to the crowd, as is true with many schools and their teams, but it became especially apparent after watching the teams play in exhibition against fort whatever and those quebecois stains - or mutes, considering they don't even speak real english - (which i was freaked out... i mean really... the turnovers?!) then playing the usu cows, I was definitely amazed. The more people we bring to the Dee, the better the victory over the Utah m'Utes.

Does anyone know if the New Mexico game is on T.V.?

It's only on the radio, their station and ours.

I have one good reason that might affect our chances of winning this game:

The Lobos have averaged an astounding 15,589 fans the past 41 years, an amazing 95% of capacity.

Last season the men's averaged 13,000 and the women's averaged 10,000 per game.
