WSU vs NDSU Sept. 6 2014 6pm

I really don't care what the score is. I just want to see us getting better and competing every play. Football teams are not often rebuilt over night and we were in a demolition mode for the past few years. We've got some rebuilding to do. This process is day by day, game by game, player by player. I'm happy as long as progress is being made, and it appears as though the job is getting done. :thumb: :thumb:

I am afraid I have some bad news for Weber. ESPN Gameday just confirmed that if NDSU wins this game Gameday will return to Fargo the following week.

NDSU has extra incentive to make a statement against Weber now.

So you're saying NDSU needs extra incentive to beat Weber? I sure hope that's the mindset of the whole team, it would give me much more hope for Weber to be able to put a scare into them.

I was trying to be nice and not say NDSU will now hang 40 points on Weber, but since you want me to be blunt..

Oh, thanks for being nice, since you or anything you say has nothing to do with the outcome. You can't guess the end result any better than anyone else. I still don't understand why now and not all along? Would ESPN care if a win were by 1 TD or 5? Weber gave up 40+ eight times last year, 40 by NDSU certainly wouldn't be any arbitrary mark of success for the Bison or failure by the Wildcats.

It's been a hard fought first half and it's much closer than I expected it to be. You'd better stop being nice now and hang 70 on 'em-- only 2 unranked teams did that to Weber last season.

I don't know how well Weber will hang in there the 2nd half but Coach Hill and staff already have this program righted. I'm SO excited for this season to play out I can't hardly stand it!

You guys have a incredibly tough team. It was a nail-biter for sure.
Congratulations n a very strong showing. Hope we get to do it again soon.

Good showing by the Wildcats...makes one hopeful & excited. Cats played tough & had a few bad breaks. Notably a much improved atmosphere compared to last year. Had 3 NDSU fans sitting next to me, they were impressed with Weber State, said Wildcats were tougher than Iowa State & liked the stadium & the excited, good crowd. Fun experience. Hope a good share of the casual fans will want to come back & support this coaching staff & team!

I was thinking a little sooner than that, like the end of December. :thumb:

GReat Game guys, Weber played til the Buzzer and thats a huge sign the staff has them going the right way, great D, really messed with our gameplan as anyone could see.

Good luck the rest of the way, im pretty sure you guys will make some noise in Conference.

That's nice of you to say, NDSU fans, but we've got a lot of work to do before we can start thinking that way. I would love it, but I am also realistic. I'm encouraged by how far we have come since last year. Our future is bright under this coaching staff.

Start thinking what way? I very much believe Weber is poised to make some noise in the BSC too. They were a few miscues and dumb mistakes away from a 17-17 4th quarter game against a VERY SOLID NDSU team. They also overachieved at ASU last week. I don't know why Weber can't make the BSC a little nervous just like they did to the #1 ranked FCS team.

Great atmosphere tonight. Good crowd and the team gave a great effort. The game was actually closer than the score shows. Without the fumble, and if Weber gets into the endzone on the fake, it could have been a 17-14 game. I'm really, really encouraged. No reason to think we can't compete for a Big Sky title, THIS YEAR, especially with EWash and UM off the schedule. GO WEBER!

And we won't meet another team the caliber of NDSU for the remainder of the year…………until the playoffs :thumb:

That Bison defense is gonna give me nightmares

Yes, that Bison D is quick and sound. Hill and Co. called a great game. Sure there's always room for improvement but can you image this same meeting last season?

I'm not holding my breath for a consistent crowd showing like that, especially when they have to pay, but I hope tonight's crowd saw what I saw and felt the excitement for quality football being played. It's been several miserable years since we've enjoyed a competitive team who's fought hard four quarters.

I'm also excited to read Hill's comments tomorrow. I'm guessing he'll compliment his team's fight and the good but I'm also guessing he'll be upset they didn't get the win (they really weren't supposed to.) He'll sound like a competitive football coach who expects to win. Refreshing.

So...not a bad result for our Cats. In all actuality the game could have been a lot closer. Two missed blocks cost the Cats 10pts, and then there was the fumble recovery that resulted in 7pts for the bison. With a little luck the game could have been 17-17 in the 4th. What is really frustrating is that two of the Bison scoring drives were kept alive by penalties (one was extremely suspect). The Cats need to clean some stuff up. Regardless, it was great watching a team that was competitive and in a position to possibly win the game. Weber has got to build on this performance and get better. Can't take any steps backwards.

Bummer about losing Smith and Wilcox. Once the Cats lost Wilcox, it was as if the entire right side of the line was susceptible to collapse. With Wilcox in the game the Cats were easily driving the field. Turner just doesn't have the drive and abilities as Wilcox. I hope his injury isn't too bad and that he will be available to play against Sac on Saturday.
