The one thing Abegglan could do (bless his cheating heart) was recruit guys who could play center. Rahe looks like he can get the guards. Can he get the big men?

The Second Picture on the Screen is Nick Thompson, out of Clearfield High here in Utah. If you want to see the centers that Randy is recruiting go look at Thompson, he is a player.

Mog, I believe Steve Panos and Arturas would be considered big guys, Randy recruited both of them, and I think they BOTH more then took care of business against a much bigger USU team. So your complaint that Randy cant recruit big's is total bull crap.

p.s. Abegglan was not a cheater.

MOG? What do you have to back up that Abegglan was a cheater? You don't have any idea what the situations were, or why he was actually fired. He was NOT fired because of self imposed sanctions.

I don't think Mog's intent was to label Abegglan a cheater, or to defame our legendary coach, he was just making a point that Abegglan would go to great lengths to recruit good JC centers to Weber... However, he did do some unethical stuff, but what major college team doesn't. As for me, I think the Weber was completely idiotic to fire Abegglan and then to hire a coach he consistently beat and who barely had a winning record, CRAVENS. What a bone head decision by the Mute A.D. Johnson. Thank goodness he is at Washington State.. As for our new recruits, I think they will contribute right away. I'm not so sure that Benson or Cottle will play that much if both new guards play their freshman year.

Has anyone been checking the new recruits stats? I have seen a couple of Nic Johnson's... He is kicking trash this season. In a game against Bonneville High (they also have a fairly decent big man) he scored 28 pts, grabed 14 rebounds, had 7 Assists, two steals, and a couple of blocks. It will be nice to have him on the team next year. With the way Morris is playing he and Morris might be a deadly combination with Mahoney, Panos, Johnson, Arnold and the Gray Shirt dude (he is a scorer). Our team will be far better next season than they are right now, and we have a good team. Not to mention that there are a couple of JC big men interested in Weber.

Terrence Dent's season just started on Tuesday... Go to the Denver Post for information. He plays for Mullen High School.

From what I hear Nate Brumfield is no longer in the plans for next year, he didn't make the grades in the class room. SMJCPA probably knows more about Nate's situation.

thats okay... There are other PF's available who will work hard and take advantage of opportunties.. go check out Cory Copperwood (Wallace Community College) and Neal Pitt (Frederick Community College). However, I'm sure there is still a chance for him, even though it is extremely slight.

Info on Sol Jensen from http://rmbnews.com
"Sol Jenson to Utah Valley State ?
Another rumor out there that won't die is that former Viewmont star Sol Jensen (brother of ex-Utah star Alex Jensen) will transfer to UVSC when he returns from his LDS Church mission. Sol Jensen signed with Weber State out of high school, but the Wildcats have changed coaches since then."

I really hope that Sol stays at WSU, I really think he is going to be better than both Andy and Alex. The Jensen family knows how to play ball for sure. Any one know if Coach Rahe is interested in keeping Sol a Wildcat?

I don't think Coach is going to give Sol a scholarship. Its kinda the same thing that happened to Danny Johnson at Idaho State. Their new coach didn't renew his scholarship so Coach allowed him to walk on to the team. I'm sure that Rahe will give Sol a chance, but a scholarship thats probably out of the question. For him to go to UVSC would be a definite insult to the Jensen family. However, i will say that they do have an excellent coach...

Nic Thompson had 24pts and 7 reb in a game against Weber High on Friday. Has anyone heard about any of the other recruits? Oh by the way does anyone know if Rahe is going to be picking up a JC post??
